Newly aquired Miss Budweiser conveersion.

Hi everybody. I kicked myself for trading off my last Miss Bud. Well I just picked this one up. Its time for an electric build.

I am thinking 1800 - 2250kv, 4S, flex drive, motor mount, turn fin, prop, 80a-180a esc and a watertight radio box.

If anyone has any advice or suggestions, I welcome them. I would strip, sand and shoot the body, but I like the bud decals. A full set is next to impossible to get.

Does anyone know if the top from a Miss Elam, the same as a Miss Budweiser top, PRB2202 / PRB3552 ??.

Overall the hull is in fantastic shape. The hatch cover is junk though and will be replaced. It does need a wax and polish job. I got quite a laugh outta the prop though, the damn thing is clear with a purple tint. That's just funny. Overall I give it a 7.0 outta 10 being all original.

I'll suggest this motor, little on the larger size of the spectrum, but plenty of power and will not be taxed much thus running nice and cool, 2200kv, FREE water jacket too!:

Once again, an ESC a bit on the larger size but will handle the juice easily and run very cool, if not this then the swordfish 120a which is out of stock:

I have a new miss bud hull kit that has never had a motor in it I did install an electric motor mount in it. I was thinking about selling the hull if your interested send me a pm. Thanks,Chris

I ran in my elam cc1512 1800kc with a fightercat(suppo) 200 amp with a 442 and 642 on 4s1p 5000 25c I was quite impressed the t180 may be a little big that hull is not very spacious I'd lean toward the swordfish 120 or 200 depending on the motor you chose

I will be running a UL-1 motor to start also have the 1500 proboat motor might play with depending on how the UL1 runs.
Running a 60amp aqua speed controller.

Sweet, my pal will be glad to hear that too jeff. He has my last miss bud, he just painted it plum crazy purple and he needs decals. And yes, it looks sick. Looks like its moving, when sitting still. I am also interested in murphy's kit as well. I have to glass it a new stuffing tube, and reshape the hull. If his already has a new tube, and the price is right, Thats Kool.

i wouldn't run much higher kv than the ul-1 motor. It's awesome and you don't want to get into a torque v's rpm battle
The ul-1 upgrades from kintec, will work for both of our boats, saves a lotta time researching !!!

Well club rules out here have to keep things stock between UL-1 & Elam can swap parts but must stick within stock components.
Yes I agree the high kv of the UL motor is max you would want.

There is a guy in our club that had one just like yours and he cut out the deck to look more like a Elam so had more access to put batteries in and glassed everything together nice and smooth all the way to the back of the boat for easy taping.

Keep me posted on the decals if it is stock Bud stuff you want will be easy to put together but if its something custom I have a list of stuff I am working on and would be a bit till I could get to it.

My buddy Lance Lopaz is going to help me with the glass work on this build. Lance is a professional fiberglass and composite man. He is one of the guys who built hull's and sponsons for the real Miss Bud in Portland. I was discussing the build and paint plan with him

Lance suggested I look into getting some gel coat to finish it with, as opposed to paint, because paint is porous. He don't want to see water get in and ruin the glass job. Where can I pickup smaller quantities of gel coat ?, or is their a certain method of painting a hull that will hold up and last ?.

Never heard of a problem with a painted boat having issues.
Not sure about where to pick up small quantities of it as I do not use it.
Try TAP plastics.
I usually just use epoxy and can paint right over that.....

Now that I think about it, My pal is thinking old skool paints and you cant spray gel coats on a patch job. Generally you spray gel coat in an empty boat mold, and then glass over that. I am going to prime, paint, color sand and clear with eurathane. it will be water tight and no issues. i am also following the build, Wolf in sheeps clothing as well. That is my next project after this is completed.
