I went out today and ran her good. She's getting to be the favorite now.Corners awesome and the speeds are steady. So get this,I figured my ET out(had a few things shut down) and with the 5017's on 6s I got 70mph and 83 amps per motor.Everything was nice and cool.Breifly tried the ET with the 5018's and had 137 amps. Not sure of the GPS on that run as I was just making sure the ET worked.Could the 3 blade 1.8's pull that much more juice than the 1.7 2 blades?
I think more testing is needed. Now that I know the GPS works I'm going to try the 1.8's on 5s again.I'll see if I got any vid.Comment

Someone had told me this a while back, probably Scott(tiqueman).I got the 4518's based on this and when it was doing wheelies with the 5018/3's I decided on the 5017/2's.Mmm,next is 1.8's or 1.9's I guess.I'll have to look around.83 amps X 25 volts is only 2075 watts so I can push the motors a little more.
And here is a little entertainment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hkx-cB2f8YA&feature=plcpComment

Nice run there Shawn, you may get better speed, slightly less draw with the 4818's I think you'll find that 3 blade pull about 30% more than the equal 2 blade. But 137amp to me is a bit on the high side. With my new esc's I have a limit of 150a but on 8s it's a bit of power. Should be good for a safe 4000w don't know how well the motors like that! But, You should be able to push that hull 80 mph easy. Maybe a bit of unnecessary drag some ware?Visit www.customcfparts.com | Custom Boat Building | Custom Carbon Fiber Parts | Custom Graphics | LMT Premium Dealer | MGM Premium Dealer | YouTube | Facebook

I'll figure it out.Slow and steady progress is how I'm going about it.Trying to learn along the way. That way my big build will be better.Whenever that comes.Kinda got a stockpile of builds going on at the moment. After the 48mm ones I'll try cutting some big ones down.Comment

Well the results are in and my 5018/3 blades are slower.I recorded 65mph and 128 amps. But that is close considering I was running 5s on the 1.8/3's and 6s on the 1.7/2's.So I guess the next step is to try the 5018/3's on 6s.They (5018's)do make the batteries warmer.I guess that is the 3 blades working things harder.
I guess to be fair I should try the 5017's on 5s and see what they pull off. That would be a safer next step.Last edited by srislash; 07-02-2012, 09:54 PM.Comment
