Just remember to do one change at a time... otherwise you will have more tuning than you thought. that stinger adjustment is going to make a big difference.

Oh yeah, lesson learned. In my case always disconnect my negative lead first. That way the exposed positive bullet can't come in contact with say,the ESC or anything.I had one spark then nothing,no power up.Got it home and traced it back to the Rx toast.Damn, because it was my MR 3000.Comment

No way.. that sux!!!!! Yeah I always have my bullet covers in my hand when Im un-plugging batteries, that way they are covered up immediately and I hopefully dont have to worrk about things like that happening. Stinks to learn a lesson like that.Comment

It does, bt that kinda stuff happens to all of us. Sometimes its carelessness, sometimes it just happens. I've got props, a complete shaft and an entire boat in the lake behind my house as well as a smoked esc or two.. or three.
As for the caps, I keep it cheap and easy. After I shrink wrap the femal bullet (positive side) and it has cooled, I slide another piece of shrinkwrap so its 50% on the bullet and 50%off. Then shrink it and let it cool. You then have a nice custom well fitting cap.Comment

That heat shrink idea is a good one! I'm gonna have a boo around the hardware store today and see if there are some vaccum caps that'll work.I need to build a display shelf for the completed boats in the living room.Yes,they're moving into the living room.Comment

Thanks Fluid,I run 6.5 CC's though. There'll be a cap for something that'll fit.The local automotive place has a good selection. Not sure about the heatshrink method now.I ran the 1717 DF35" today and only one bank of batteries seemed to supply power so the connectors got a little warm. Not much, just enough to shrink heatshrink.Comment
