Mean Machine for P-Ltd Offshore Heat Racing

I always wanted to try a MM. Picked up a badly water damaged one on the cheap from a friend. Patched up crunched front sponson & filled some holes (not worried about cosmetics-it's likely gonna get banged up racing offshore). Gutted the interior and laid down 3/32 ply to stiffen. Went with the AQ 1800 KV motor & T-120. Used the existing strut but replaced teflon. Using .187 shaft ( may re-power at a later date with more h.p.). Installed propwash pickup to provide separate cooling for motor & speedy - Offshore runs @ 4.5 minutes & heat is an issue. Filled cowl holes, el cheapo brass tubing dual water outlets & used modded rear hatch holdowns. Tapedown looks scary but to keep weight down no subhatch (yet?). Epoxied non-adhesive velcro for battery retention. GT3b rx with inside antenna. First wet in a day or so-have high hopes !

Lookin good bud. You're probably going to want a much longer rudder with FE power.

My Bud Naveed has this setup with a Leo 4074 & it seems to turn ok. With spec power I'm hoping it's enough rudder but I have a Speedmaster .21 rudder waiting in the wings if necessary. Thanks for the feedback.

Nice clean build, should go very well.

Forget the sub-hatch, get one of these - http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...d=aero-mm-cowl

Thanks Scott. I wasn't aware that these were available; the FFRB's disappeared & I gave up looking.
