    5000-5500kV motors

Who makes motors in that KV range besides Neu?

Ok I have to ask. What are you putting a hot motor like that in? Is that going to be a 2-s setup?

Yes it will be a 2s setup for an outboard tunnel. I have the boat together right now with the ammo 2300 on 4s but the weight of the battereis is too much. So I want to go with the 5500 or so on 2s. I have a bigger tunnel that will be going to 4s once I have the money to get it together.

            John,

You will be pulling 120 amps in the straights and 150 in the turns with a 5300KV setup turning a 36mm prop.

Also, will the boat balance with only 2S?

            Just thought you should know.

            All the best,

            Ray

Ray this is for the little yellow tunnel that I was running a couple weeks ago at the fun run. The 4s set up is just too much wieght in the boat for where Herb was telling me the packs should be. He had told me that 2s was all that really needed to be in the boat anyway. I just need to save up the money for a 240 and what I think will be the Neu 1512 5500 motor.

Yep, save up yer money. Herb is into "huge" amp draw stuff, it does not bother him to smoke a controller or burn up a motor. Have you picked up one of his boats? They are flyin bricks. But, gotta give it to him, he knows how to make those bricks run. Just kinda boggles my mind when you need a 240 amp controller for a 2S boat.

Most motors and batteries don't last very long in that environment.

                  All the best,

                  Ray

The yellow hull I was running was one oh his hulls that I put together. I actually have the mold for that hull and deck, so I am going to lay up another one, since I messed up that boat when I clamped it together and put a hook in the one sponson.
