    BBY's "Close Call" scale/sport

I have been working on this hull for about ten years off and on this summer I put a lot of work in to it and finally finished the molds. Now it is time for a FE boat. It will be a LSH boat that will do a little light duty in P Sport It is a little short for the full blown P Sport. I am building a 34 inch for that class. This boat is 30 inch

Looks nice Randy. Is there a way to port the air from the scoop out the turbine and still be water-tight in the hull?

That normally causes much more drag than a closed off intake does. Airplane guys know what I mean....

Really? I will have to do a test and see I have a open one on my 1/8 scale and it went 80MPH earlyer this year. I put is a damso the air went right threw.
But there is a inner hatch on this boat.

Personalty I like it open no matter what

Thanks Mike I love this boat. I am real excited about it.
On a bubble pack pedestal. I just liked the view with the hull Joined. I had to do a little patch on the scoop, first one layed up and I did not put in enough fillers. That is how I learn.

I have orders for two at this point. They are $180 FG, $210 FG and CF reinforced in critical areas. For full doubble CF with lite FG they are $250.00. Add one color is $30.00 and second color is $10.00 more. Each hull kit takes about three weeks to build.

That is a small hatch opening, gonna be difficult to get some packs in there.
I don't understand how eliminating a flat face ramming the wind will increase drag.

Just to chime in on the drag issue, if you can't expell the amount of air flow induced through the scoop then you create a venturi air brake.. The amount of drag is alot more than a shut off hole.. This is based on my years of war bird flying.. Classic example is the P40 under scoop.. If that ram was feeding an air intake on a gasser (not nitro, tune would be way out at speed,) then that is a hole different story but in the case of electrics the con's far outway the pro's.. Keep it water tight.. Cheers

                        ps Nice boat..

For LSH all you need is one pack. when I run two packs I put the batteries in the sponsons.

That makes sense that the entrance must be as big as the exit

Installed the strut on mine. the big hatch in the rear is great for the hands to fit in.
