    T-4 Tandem Wing Hardware

I am starting a T-4 Budweiser Tandem Wing and would like to know what hardware people are using, and also what would be a good electric motor setup for this boat, and ESC. I was thinking about using the same hardware from a UL-1. Give me some ideas.
    Thank you,
    Mars

What size and do you intend to race it in sanctioned scale racing? Some pretty specific rules if you are racing it, you would need to follow the rules in use in your area.
If you are building for fun and it's in the ballpark size range of the UL-1 you could get away with most of the hardware, motor and esc no problems.
I buy a lot of used aquacraft hardware off the swap shop, I find it pretty good quality, parts are available at most hobbyshops and it's a perfect fit on the size of electric boats I like.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

What electric classes are there for this boat? This is a pretty big boat, and I am trying to make it as light as possible. What shaft diameter to most guy use? Also, how deep is the rudder in comparison to the bottom of the propeller. What size props do they use?
      Thanks

Well I have a 1/10 scale Miss Wahoo shovel nose hydro, it's 34" long and uses a proboat miss geico motor with 4s2p and a swordfish 120 esc.
The next size up would be 1/8 scale with 44+ inch boats which use 8 and 10s setups and big low kv motors The UL-1 hardware would not be what to use on one of these, for starters I'd use at least the next size up flex cable, you'd need a much bigger turn fin and rudder as well.
Check out both the NAMBA and IMPBA site for info about clubs and racing in your area, the rule books are online and have the specifics about what you can and can't do, different rules would apply to your boat, it's a modern design, mine would race in vintage class.

With a 1/4" shaft, would you use a 1/4" shaft stepped down to 3/16" and what prop would I use with a 8S setup and what motor would be best?
          Thanks

I honestly don't run electric boats of that size, I'm not sure what you'd want. I wouldn't want to steer you wrong! The RumRunner Racing forum seems to attract a lot of scale hydro builders of the bigger boats.
Seems they like the bigger Castle & Leopard inrunners and Scorpion outrunners, don't know much more specifics.
