Electrified 1/8th Scale Dumas Pay N Pak

Went to a swap meet in July and found this old Dumas Pay N Pak 8th scale for an attractive price. It looked so cool I had to have it! The boat was well built and in great condition.



I bought a used Scorpion out-runner motor from a local club member. I also bought a used skid fin from him. The boat was set up for Speedmaster hardware, so I bought a set. Unfortunately, the previous owner had the rudder on the right side. I will move it over to the left. There will be some serious filling to do on the transom. I will be running a 10S lipo power system. I have ordered a new HV Castle ICE speed controll. I bought a pair of China mart 5S 5000 batteries.

Clearing Out The Engine Bay



I took the PAk out to the garage and fired up the air compressor. I used a air auto body saw and cut out the radio box. I also used a 90 degree air grinder to clean up after the cutting.



I installed the strut and rudder.


I also started to fabricate a motor mount from some aluminum angle.
