Frank L. ( jfrank71) sent me his DF 33, which he bought partially setup. The Speedmaster stinger was mounted offset (apparantly by the previous owner to counterract prop walk, which really doesn't affect the long, wet running DF hull). I plugged the holes, reinforced the inside transom backing plate and centered the stinger so I could center the driveshaft which had to line up with the Williams 4" rail mounts which are tricky enough to install to make the motor collet perfectly concentric with the flexshaft. The challange was to do a rear motor setup with the batteries inside the rails to center the weight longitudinally to minimize chine walk. In order to allow proper CG adjustment with 5S or 6S setups, I had to get creative mounting the T-180 as far back as possible so I mounted it vertically on a bulkhead mount I made from ply. Took a lot of trial fitting but it worked out well. Look closely at the third and fourth pictures & you can see the 90 deg. banjos I used to keep the water inlet/outlet waterlines neat and tucked in.DSC02361.JPGDSC02368.JPGDSC02364.JPGDSC02378.JPGDSC02376.JPG

I used 2" non-adhesive velcro battery retention straps to anchor the batteries. The best mounting location for the servo would make it impossible to access the rear motor mount bolts, so I relieved the mount underneath to allow access to the bolts. {BTW, the Futaba BLS451 servo is the fastest, quietest, best centering servo I have ever laid eyes on !} Frank wisely requested hatch hold-downs, so the front slides in, and the rear uses bolts that go through grommets to stay watertight and need just 1/2 turn to catch the threads and lock in. Frank will add velcro to the bottom of the box.Last edited by properchopper; 07-15-2011, 06:50 PM.2008 NAMBA P-Mono & P-Offshore Nat'l 2-Lap Record Holder; '15 P-Cat, P-Ltd Cat 2-Lap

DSC02374.JPGDSC02373.JPGThe boat should really run nice with the Leopard 1500 KV motor on 5S and rock on 6S. Turn fins will be put on by Frank when he gets the boat back.
