    scat cat 26

Bought an untrimmed unjoined BBY scat cat 26 hull from Properchopper in the for sale thread here and some Carbon fiber cloth from Kintec racing and got started on my build. Carbon fiber is layed with CA as the resin as per Randy's instructions.

Next step will be joining the halves and trimming the hatch

Now that makes it a lot easier to lay carbon down. Looking good

Its all one piece now, and very rigid, the upper and lower halves were joined with a Thick CA

Finally get back to this build, I wanna get some runs in with it before summer is over.....I am in need of some set-up advice. what should the distance from the bottom of the transom to the center-line of the prop shaft be, and what is better, inline strut and rudder or offset rudder? also what prop size would be a good starting point, I am going to be running a Leopard 4074 1800kv 4 pole motor with a 180 amp seaking esc, most likely on 4s but may try 5s

This is my best current setup with the sponsons flat and the strut 1/8 of an inch raised and flat to the board.

So the strut can be mounted right to the transom without extending out past the rear of the boat? I was thinking I had to get a long strut mount to get the prop behind the rear most portion of the boat.

Mine works fine hear. Mine is extended one inch. The twins extend for clearance of the prop to the hull. I would not run so much cells though stick with 2S or 3S and a good 4 pole motor. If you are going to run a 2 pole motor then the 4S is OK

wont 2 or 3s with an 1800kv 4 pole motor be pretty slow, I plan on 4 or 5s through my 4 pole 1800kv leopard

Ya your 1800kv motor should run on 4S.
