I heard you've been handing out the spankings pretty good lately. How long can that go on? Could it be that the streak ends in Atlanta?? Or will it continue even after the Grand Prix???
Really looking forward to it fellas!!!

The JAE don't need dialing in Chuckie. Set the strut low and neutral and make sure the turn fin is sharp and tapered back. Thats all there is to it!! Put it in the watet, hit the throttle and point it where you want it to go!!
I'm glad your entered in a bunch of classes Kent. That's they quickest way to learning how to run the buoys and in traffic!
They think it is the fuel pump on the Blazer. (like I didn't figure that one out.)
They will call in the morning when they make sure.
I did give them a time limit on it.
wish i was a rich air traffic controller again lol....id be able to race with ya all in atl......lol (chilli knows what i mean lol) cant afford the gas anymore...retirement with kids in school sucks
Just a little update on my Insane mono. I got a chance to shake her down at open water during our district race a few weeks ago. I got her dialed in pretty close but after a few heats I discovered that this boat will trip and spin out in the turns in race water if the turn fins are too small. I was using the OSE Large fins (I should of followed Tony's lead with the XL fins). My locals gas mono gurus took a look at the boat and told me my turn fins were way too small. These guys are boat builders and oval trials record holders and they are not affraid to put big fins on thier boats. With thier help and with the generosity of Dick Tyndall (who would not accept payment) I was soon sporting a new D mono turn fin. I swung the fin back to a depth of about 2.5 inches and on the next heat I quickly noticed the improvement. I would say the problem was 90% corrected. Unfortunately that was the last heat of the weekend but I was told the swing down the fin even further to about 2.75 inches in depth. I did do that but without race water, it's pointless to test out the boat and determine whether the tripping has been totally corrected. The good news is I'm headed down to Atlanta this weekend to run with the D13 crew in their Grand Prix Series. So we'll see if the problem is corrected soon enough. I'll let you guys know how it went.
Bringing this thread back. Mike, how has the bigger fin helped? I too have OSE XL fins on my Insane 34. Maiden was today. Runs very well except for the turns. It does a roll/bounce when turning. It rolls the opposite way im turning and bounces. It only does this under power. I do have the older hull with the longer strakes. Could this be the problem? I read on here a couple racers had this prob, but couldnt find the thread(s). I do remember Tony saying he doesnt have any problem turning with his 1st gen mono. Any advise?
