    SK-II Twin Cat Build......

I have gone with Twin's on the second Skunkworks Cat!! I have it set-up with 2/ SV27 struts(cut down 1/2" shorter) and SV27 rudder, 2/ counter rotating .150-3/16 f/shafts, turning 2/ CF45 props...For power I am starting with 2/ SV27 motor & Esc combos... I will do the first test run with 2/ 4S1P 3700mAh 25C lipos, 1 for each Esc and motor...

This build was just for the fun of it!! I have 2/ Ammo 36-50-2300's on the way!! I will just change out the motors when they arrive, the rest will stay the same... I will try to run it today after lunch! See what the old GPS has to say??

    Here are a few pictures...

It looks good. Nice clean setup. What did you do to address the taper those stingers are on? I had no idea they where tapered when I picked up a set for a twin build. I decided not to go with them because of the thrust being directed on an angle.

Thanks SJFE, I just ground the backs of the mounting plates, to square-up the stingers to the rear of the hull..I used a bench belt sander... Also I cut the stingers 1/2" so they are not as long.. I ground the back of the stingers and cut some material out of the holes where the bolts go through, for more adjustablitiy... Both stingers are square with the back of the hull and also flush with the bottom ride surface.. I used octura lead teflon bearings 2/ in each stinger..

I am having a 1" stand off bracket made for the rudder.. Right now the back of the rudder blade is flush with the prop ends... I want to see what difference there will be with the rudder 1" behind the props...

Way to go taking the taper out of those stingers. I would have attempted that if I had a grinder or belt sander. I look foward to your test data and videos :).

The stingers look great on the boat! Cannot wait to hear the GPS data.

              Great build!
Stay in front and don't get sprayed!

it's a boat it's suppose to get wet why let the rain stop you????
The Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.

I am trying to get the video thing down...... GPS today with CF45 props was 33MPH.. I think I will try the X447's next, before I switch the SV27 motors out to the Ammo 36-50-2300's. .... The sound of the TWINS was AWESOME:D !!!!!! I could basically hold it full wood, and turn in either direction.... It handles great, I am sure this will change the faster it gets!! For the first run, I am very happy!!! Nothing ran above 68 deg...
