    Tom's TS2 Conversion

I am off and waiting...for the first cure.... I have put some backing in the openings in the bottom of the hull and laminated my ridepads. I will cut them to fit tomorrow night. I didnt set them tonight because I dont have big enough clamps . Off to the home depot tomorrow. I paid for the trick motor mount from Vic tonight and have a shopping cart full of angledrive and all the trimmings @ hyper just waitin to be checked out. Got to close the deal on the TC31 and I'll have it in the mail. The pictures arent much to look @ but its all I got tonight.

Very close to spec SV27 power on 4s-1p. Ammo 36/56/1800 and a great planes 45 amp esc. I will play with other motors and esc's but thats the setup I will run 99% of the time.

A lot of people seem to be modding these, I may have to do one myself one day.

Hey Tom... I saw someone on one of the forums (I THINK it was RRR) selling an Ammo 36-50-2300.... Brian tried one of those on his and it was REALLY fast! Looked like a LOT of fun! If you have one of those motors... you may want to give THAT a try!

Ok so after an email I realized I kinda messed up . Tonight I'll be cutting out the rest of the original pads and dropping in a new set.
Darin I will have to hold off on that ammo I scraped up the cash for my order from hyper :D.

I have made the choice not to order the hyper lower. There are a couple reasons. The more I looked at it the heaver it looked & I can't seem to find information on that. Second was the 50 dollar price diffrence. I am already 50 in with the mount and I want to keep costs in check. My REK has been ordered.
Darin did your rek come with the coupler?.

If you ordered the $89.95 setup (or is it $99 now??), from Ray Fuller, it comes with everything you need.... minus the motor... You'll likely have to trim up the flex, but Ray did mention that he was going to be providing them already the right length.... Make sure and test fit that part carefully and get it to the right length...

Well, I ordered the "complete" deal from Ray and did not get a coupler. I ended up having to pay another $15 plus another shipping charge. I asked him about it and got no response other than him shipping the coupler I paid for.

Oh well. Maybe you got a special deal.

I'd confirm with him before ordering.

No... I went back an looked and I ordered several couplers at the same time so I'd have what I need, plus spares...

I broke out the new saw blade and completly cut out was was left of the pads. I broke out the angle gage and made up some braces out of 3/32 bass changing the deadrise to 16. I did 3 per side plus the bulkhead that was there. I used the same bass for the pads. I cut them pretty close. I epoxied the under sides and then set it up to dry for the night. I put a layer on the top of them also. I will be sanding most of it offbut I had alot left over. Any suggestions on a filler would be great. Id hate to use up all my DC filling it all in. I hope to have this done by the weekend. Then I can start the radio box. I have decided to use the one I was sent. I am going to build an add on out of the kevlar composit connected but seperate. This way if I blow an esc I wont run the risk of damaging my expensive packs & dss rx. Look @ the mess I made..lol

                          Tom,

THAT is what I had in mind... I knew you would get it done... I like the step at the front of the pad... It'll be interesting to hear how it handles once you are done...

                            coupler & Hyper issue

When I spoke to Ray last Monday about the REK , he brought up that the coupler needed to be ordered, which I did. Tom, Hyperformance has been out of the Angle Drive for a while but will have some in a few weeks according to my conversation with him, also last Monday, so you made the right decision by getting the REK for the time being. I did consider the Lawless unit, but after spending the extra bucks on the the Hi-Jack I too decided that my spending on this project needs to be watched ! [ it also levels the field somewhat on what we're trying to keep as "spec" class.]
I should have the drive hung by Friday & then I'll lay out the interior relative to C.G. Right now the WW IV guys are discussing lap numbers and course distance; once decided I'll order the batt's according to capacity to last the heat[s]. Right now I may go with 2S2P so I can use the batt's for my LSO rig, which will now allow the SV 27 power system [ Yay!].

                              Hurry, hurry Chopper Dude.

My motor is mounted, the box is built and the waterproofing is drying tonight. Tomorrow I drop the servo in and do the linkages. I have gobs of room to slide the packs around and I can fit anything from two 2S 3300's all the way up to a 4S 5000 pack.

                              Yabba Dabba!!!
