Another update. Did some Carbon fiber work today. Layed the hull, hatch and most of the wood pieces I cut. I didn't think it turned out to bad for my first time. Also bent the stuffing tube and its ready to installed. The other rudder and some odds and ends parts should be here tuesday, and test runs by the weekend.

Did a little more CF work last night. Here's my idea for the hole set up. Any suggestions?

If those packs are going to be dedicated to that hull I would put the packs (wire side) facing each other. And keep the wires as short as possible on the battery side. I know its tough to cut wire, especially lipos, makes my common sense want to reject some of the do's and donts. Actually what I have been doing is to keep the pack wires as long as possible, but shorten my esc batt side wires. Because I can solder batt leads on most if not all speedos.

With all of that said, the old rule about keeping wires short in big power systems is something to be on top of. Also if you dont have a cap bank installed on the esc, you might consider one. Its a little extra insurance for not a lot of money. Are you going with 8mm bullets?

Hey check the CG with the batteries in it as u have them laid out. Do the old "broomstick" method or similar methods. Reason, you have done such a great job with the CF would be a shame to epoxy down stuff and then move later.

When I build a boat I check cg as I build because we forget the little things that add wt as we go along. For instance, the epoxy you needed to put the cf cloth down. Takes just a minute and pays GREAT dividends. Big boats are as sensitive to cg as others. Any boat going 50+mph the cg will show up immediately if off. Then to compensate one must either move stuff or mess with the transom setup.

John, I do use those packs in different hulls so I really dont want to shorten the leads but how short are you talking with the esc batterys leads. I can do that because the esc is dedicated to the Fountain hull. Yes I will be using 8mm bullets motor and esc side and 6.5mm batterys side.

I have this cap bank that was on the esc before It went to Castle's repair shop, but when I received it back there wasn't any leads to use it again. Below is a picture of the cap bank John. There's 5 caps total........

With everything inside the hull except the larger servo arm and some velcro the COG is 29%. Do you think thats a good place to start Curt?

Boat looks great you did an exellent job.One thing i notice is the prop looks very dull and im thinking it needs to be balanced and sharpened ? if so do it before you run it or it could cause serious problems and damage to your boat.
