    kuutio's 26 wildthing mono

    hello!
This is my first brushless boat and I started building it couple weeks ago. The frame is balsa and everything else is plywood. Overal lenght of hull is around 26 inch and width is 8. I dont have any idea of weight.

Would this kind of setup work?
turnigy 3656 1800kv motor (I have one with cooling jacket)
    turnigy 120 ESC
    some 5000mah lipos 4s
    .150 flexcable
    prop?

here is couple pictures of boat:

That will be a good setup.
I have one of these, great handling fast boat.
Try it without trim tabs at first, good chance this hull won't need them if it's properly trimmed out.
Mount the turn fin as far to the outside of the hull as possible and 90 to the bottom, short enough so it doesn't drag in the water when you are going straight.
SV27 hardware is a good inexpensive choice.
I'm seriously considering one about 32" long with a Leopard 4074, I'll just scale the plan up, I really like this design.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

i need to order some stuff
How often that .150 flexcable will snap? i had brushed outboardmotor (kyosho) that kept snapping its cable about every 2 runs. fortunately i had spare flex about ten metres
i will probably use Teflon, any disadvantages?

You are really gonna like that 3656 turnigy.......i have had several and i would put them up against motors 3 times the price.

Are you pouring the metal to hand forge the prop? Chuckle. Seriously, nice build and obviously good at creating things from a pile of wood and basic materials.

LOL after a couple of runs I added some partial length spray rails, they worked so I plan on shaving them off at some point and doing them full length.
Figure I'll get the wooden one perfect then maybe next winter make a mould from it and try my hand at laying up a glass hull.
Next I'll be testing some strakes on the bottom, see if the extra lift helps or hurts.
Going to stick them on with thin 2 sided tape for testing of length and location.
Too bad more people aren't scratch building anymore. I find it a fun relaxing part of the hobby, keeps me involved with boats during the long cold winter.

I rather buy cube of metal and sand it til it looks like prop...

Between the motor and coupler, let the shaft float at the other end with about the width of the cable's space between the drive dog and strut.
Moving the motor in mine back today, think I need to get the cg farther back. The hull is so small I have no more room to shift things, it;s running a bit wet at the moment.
Could only get it back to 30% think it needs a bit more.

I want to build the 32X10 1/2 wild thing from the RCBM plans. Can get them from Air Age Media,RC store for $20. Any one done this yet? Larry

I've scaled the plans so a couple of sizes, you can find them for free on line, most common are the 48" 24" version. Just scale either to 32"
If you use the search tool I believe there is a post on this forum with the plans attached in PDF.
