Got my flex shafts .187x3/16,, but dumb me i got two of the same and foregot one needs to be right hand so i gess ones going up for sale!!! But i can still use it for placement!!!
Question,,with using .187 with no teflon i have 2 choices on wich size tube to use,, first pic shows with the 7/32 tube fits perfect but will have slight drag when i bend it!!! Second pic is with the 1/4 tubing,,, has some slop but should not have any drag at all after i bend it SO wich one should i use??????

You could always get a size up for the aluminum and put it over the brass just for the look of it.

I like the idea of using the brass for the bolts as a support.

Thanks Jeff,, but im not so sure i want to waste an extra tube per side but it is an idea,,,
the tube over the bolts are so when you tighten the bolts you actualy squeezing against the tube and not the hull,,but you probly no that!!!

So i moved on for now,,, i filled the rudder extension in the hull with 1min epoxy mainly cuz the tube is like a big suringe with the long tip let it dry a few hours and installed my rudder,, for those who dont no i took a rudder/strut system like the on that comes on the Genesis and i removed the strut part and cut the rudder bracket short,,i think it will work ok.. I also orderd the 90* etti nipples for my motor mounts so gotta wait again till they come in...

yes, it was a drag when i was in the process of building it. Everything thing was double the effort. Double the soldering job. Double the drilling, Double the fitting. You are looking good HJ keep it there, you will find it worth a damn in the end! have fun

I gotten the ones with thread so i locklite it. its strong enough for me. Be sure not to have the holes plugged

the only ones i saw with 4mm threads was a nut looking style, the ones i got the head part is round and the nipple to go in the motor mount is super short with no threads,, maybe i need to order the other ones, but that would suck,,, it would be the 3rd pair ive orderd trying to get 90* nipples on these things..

i would have send you my nipples if i only knew later they will be redundant. however, they super locklite to my mounts now.

if you plan on running inrunners these 90 nipples will only hinder your way. On the contrary with outrunners you would be needing them.
