Well, now the boats gone from the left to the right coast and is all primed, sanded and ready for paint. At Randy's suggestion, I'm going to use the Paint Shop Finish System paints by Dupli-Color for this boat. It's a lacquer system with no recoat window that comes already mixed in the can. Randy didn't leave me a whole lot to do to get it ready- a little sanding and filling minor imperfections is all. If you've ever built a foam core sponsoned/wood tub rigger then you know how much work is involved. What he charged me is a bargain. Plus he's always at the other end of the phone if you need help. Hope to be able to paint and re-assemble it next week.P1010185.jpg

That's an old one I keep around- just throw it up on some sawhorses and instant workbench. Actually if you go the Home Depot and buy a cheap hollow core interior door they make a nice flat work surface. I made some plywood boxes to put the sawhorses on so I can get it to just the height I like. Some cardboard on the wooden door and away we go.

                      cool

I use an old table (Used for briefings, ect.)from when I was in the AF.
straight and flat as an arrow, but heavier than Shnit.

                      LOL

In my race trailer I have two hollow core doors that have folding legs on them that make my race tables. I just need to add a foot to each leg to stand and work at the tables. Being 6' 3" I like to have high tables.

Well, now it's red. The color on the picture is orange, but it is red. Today I waterproofed the inside and painted the outside. Very pleased with the Dupli-Color lacquer system. You'd have to work reallly hard to run the clear, it dries so fast. Tomorrow we get some sticky back color sheets and gin up a deco scheme.P1010186.jpg
