    AC Sport 40 Hydro Restification

Heres some pics of my newly restified AC Version 1 Sport 40 Hydroplane. Got this hull in a trade deal. When i got the hull it had no canopy, a crunched sponson and big sections missing out of the hull bottom.

    RESTIFICATIONS:

    1) Fixed the sponson installed new redesigned ride pads.

    2) Installed a new full length 0.040 thick G-10 bottom.

    3) Cleaned up the deck with cut down Dumas SP40 canopy.

    4) Updated the afterplane by reducing it by almost an inch on each side & replaced the non-trip side walls with Bamboo veneer flooring. This mod reduced lift by adding sponson tunnel relief, less chance of high speed blowover.

    5) Integrated self draining strut wet well for ease of ride adjustments.

    DRIVETRAIN:

    Motor: NEU Castle 1717/1580 kv

    ESC: Ettti 150 Race

    Cells: 50C Flightpower 6S1P (2 x 3S)

Hardware: MACH 5 racing(custom) aluminum Rudder & Turnfin Assemblies, MACH 5 Billet Coupler, Motor Mount with 3/16" flex drive

    Turn Fin: Virginia Craftsman

    Steering Servo: HS645MG

    PERFORMANCE: 60mph+

Got a chance to see this boat run a few laps a couple of weeks ago. It is going to be a contender in ANY Q sport class this year.

              Runs really nice Ken!

              Later,
              Mike

Looks great! Lots of work gone into it by the looks and sounds of things.

I'm going to run the same motor on 6S in my Whip40 - any prop suggestions?

                Thanks,
                Scott

Try some 47-50mm detonged 2 & 3 blades. You don't need a real big prop when running 6S with the 1717. I really like that motor puts out big power very little heat.

Wonderful work!! new guys like me continue to pick up some great ideas on equip. layout, and finish work.

Question, can u run that motor without water cooling it as it is setup in the pics or r u waiting on a cooling jacked from OSE?

I'm only cooling the ESC, the 1717 motor runs fine without cooling for sprint racing. I run the same setup in my AM Sprint Cat no cooling.
