My JAE 21 and Phil Thomas Sport 40 Build

New additions to Team Ducati Racing... fresh from the paint booth: My JAE 21 P-Limited Hydro and my nitro Phil Thomas Super Sport 40.

I still have to add my numbers to the number plate. Probably should have done that before laying the clear coat.

I'm hoping to have both rigged by next week to start testing for the race season.

        Thanks!

        It’s PPG 473.101 Rosso Red.

Lucky Duc, I am building a second Whiplash. It will be powered by a Neu 1518 1.5d 2340kv motor using 4s2p. This combo should spin the prop a little faster.

Wow! That's some HP under the hood for that hull.

I have never heard of anyone using this lighter weight motor. Should work verywell...I hope.

I know of one person using the larger 1527 1D 2300kv motor in the Insane FE 30 and it has worked using just 4s1p.

                Got it rigged

I finished rigging my JAE yesterday. I just need to fit the batteries and start testing props.

The JAE with that hatch reminds me of the old GeeBee air race planes!
Light travels faster than sound, so people may appear to be bright until you hear them speak.

What batteries are you using and how did prop testing go?

No testing yet. Too windy. I'm going to see how the packs I already have fair (2 x 2S 5000mAh) before considering smaller capacity cells.

Did you spray the PPG or have a specialty place do it?

I did all of the primering and wet sanding. I had an auto body shop shoot the color and clear.
