    Drag Flatty

Just for my friend Rich hear is a link to the old thread on the drag flatty. Since that site is all but dead due to Dan loosing interest in RC boats I will answer any questions on my forum.
    http://rcdragboats.yuku.com/topic/54...-Runner-Bottom.

    From a local FE Dude
Randy, I ordered two different jet drive units made by KMB one is 28mm and the other is 33mm they also sell a 40mm unit but I thought that would be to big for this hull. I like your idea about a front hatch lets work on that. Here is a link to the jet drives I ordered : http://www.jet-drive.de/ .

Thanks for the link Rich I took some pictures of your hull in the mold . You wanting to build one of the Runner Bottoms will makes me want to finish mine So I can race you at Heather Farms. We need to get rid of the Bouies so we can really have fun.

One of the things that has stopped me was the side seams on my boat were not sealed and had a mess of slurry all over the seam. I could not get to it to fix it until I cut the new hatch. Now that I was able to get in there and grind the old slurry off I was able to tape the out side and fiberglass tape the inside to make it water tight. I have to let the epoxy dry today and will not be able to do more until tomorrow. then I will install the hatch braces.

I think it would be cool to have drag boats offered as a class at saw trials, the traps are already there!

Ya Me too I am glad I built this mold, Some day I want to build a bigger one like in the 35 inch range. But for now this 22 inch boat will have to do

I installed the Jet drive housing yesterday it took 2 hours to install.

This is the motor I am thinking about running it might be a little hot I will start off with a 4600kv or 5700kv. I need to cut the epoxy on the bottom of the motor mount to make it fit correctly

I have ran the boats threw the traps my little Hydro it did 55MPH not bad for a 1/10 scale 24 inches long. the 1/6 scale are a litle too big at 44 inches. They (NAMBA) will let you run them we just have to put them in a class that works for the hull and power volt rating. I do not know much about IMPBA rules.
