    Mold for rent?

I was wondering if any one had a 37" -46" mold of a cat that I could rent or borrow. I would prefer a mystic style boat. My friend owns a company that makes carbon fiber parts for Formula 1 cars and other race stuff. I was wanting to have him lay up a carbon fiber hull for me. He is a professional and takes the utmost care of everything he touches. Most of his parts are BIG bucks. I did not know if anyone had one of these. In the US please, international shipping would be too high. Just throwing this out there as an idea. I of course would be willing to pay shipping both directions and have my friend lay one up for you also at cost.

Molds are GOLD if you ever made one. They need special care and love.

I know. I think we will have to buy a boat modifiy it how we want and then make a mold. That is why I have brought in a pro. I have made a couple of molds for other things and done a bit of fiberglass work. I'm going to let my buddy do the work. A rc boat would be the absolute cheapest thing he has ever done. Most of his parts he makes are well over $10,000 bucks and some are hundreds of thousands.

Dont waste your money on a carbon hull it wont hold up,if you want carbon then youd be best to do a glass and carbon layup as carbon has zero impact resistance.Carbon kevlar would be another option ..

ps Why borrow a mould ? it would be easier for you to just buy a hull from a decent manufacturer built to your specs.Anyone can build a boat NOT everyone can build a good boat and even fewer a Great one.
