Let me ad to the allready obvious quality of the Rico. The top half seems to be perfectly joined to the side corners of the V. .......This is a perfectly balanced boat !....................Also on the center pic notice the can of the new energy spray, take it when building and new ideas happen !...

          motor mount

Just finished with a mock up motor mount , its a little over half done. It will be adjustible and might fit a 1717( I have never owned one to be able to measure). This mount will be my template for future mounts .....

Motor mount done , working the motor plate next for better adjustability..

Totally happy with this mount, it took me all day but I finally goter done . Adjustability is down right exellent , I will be making a diffrent motor plate , a taller one that will slide up and down bettween the side plates so the motor can basically be dropped to the floor, it goes pretty low now. Motor plate can be flipped for a hydro or cat.....................I am setting up shop for this mount so if anyone wants one let me know ....Side plates are 6'' L and 3'' W .... This is basically my template mount and has some ruff edges still, the aluminum square will get a polish job and I will be using colored CF.......................PROPER ?

1717? I ran one in my Rico. It likes the 1520 better. It's a lot of weight in that boat with 6s!

                  Current progress....

Finally decided on a layup ....was doing more thinking than building there for a little while...Made my own CF turn fins, they are traced from some accu-tec fins, inspiered from D. Smock...

                        Curent progress...

Today I re-enforced the transom 100% with 2mm silver CF, made new turn fin brackets because a single 4mm bolt threw the transom would allow the bracket to twist so now two bolts with some adjustment and made a servo mount. Still undecided on my rudder......leaning towards a mono .21..... for trim tabs I bought the long Accu-tec tabs...

Custom all in one strut/rudder !

Well.......finally got a rudder in today, speedmaster .40 with 2 1/4 setback. I planned on setting the rudder back some more. Found out this little Rico just doesn't have the transom room for bigger hardware . My trim tabs have no room because of the rudder brackets footprint is just too big ,so now I must get crafty...lol Here is what I came up with and seems like its the new ticket for my boat setup.. Now I can place my tabs 1'' from the turn fins ....I need to re-do my turn fin brackets again because this boat has very little transom space( thanks to the foot print of my strut and rudder) and I will be hangin the turn fins out there on the edge of transom space so clearanses are sub millimeter mainly because my tabs and fins are going to be 100% adjustable (within reason of adjustability), up, down and side to side ( except tabs).........When I am done with this build it better be my little water rocket that makes me happy...lol .........There is still alot of cuting , drilling , tapping and measuring that needs to be done, this is just a mock up for my idea...........
