Secure a flat piece of material to each side of the vee and mount it on that...................can be ply.........epoxy it and/or cf it.
Or, you could make one.............i made mine out of aluminum stock laying around in the garage. I pick the whole boat up by the motor and "test" it every now and then...........very sturdy.Attached FilesNEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? the best way would be to use a piece of 1/8 plywood across the "v" in the hull to make a flat surface for the mount to sit on. glass the 1/8 ply into the hull to make it strong and then mount the motor mount to that shelf. you are either going to have to either use glue and screws or blind nuts and bolts to secure the mount to the wood shelf. also you are going to want to put everything in temporary at first including the stuffing tube because you will find out that 90 degrees isnt what you want on the motor mount and it may require a little tweeking.
also keep in mind that that mound only supports the front of the motor. i think any motor big enough to push that hull will need support in the rear also. honestly i think you would be better off using a different mount that is made for "v" hulls and adjustable. i am sure peter z (punisher67) could make you a verry nice one. they cost a little more but are pieces of art and well worth it.
just my opinionAttached Filessee my fleet: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...hp?albumid=294

i would use screws and jb weld. ot through bolt it prior to glassing the ply into the hullsee my fleet: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...hp?albumid=294

keep in mind it needs to be strong to support the weightsee my fleet: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...hp?albumid=294

I would prefer to use ply rails and front AND back supports, that motor is like 2 lbs, you gonna go fast and bounce hard - get that puppy secured in SOLID!! That angle motor mount is not near rigid enough, and will probably bend if the rear of the motor is not clamped down to something."Look good doin' it"

Agree, this angled mount is not ideal for this motor, it is a heavy motor and the mount is not rigid. Better to use this mount but to support the rear as well (I use it with a 50 mm diameter motor)

I am having same problem. I am going to put 1717 in cyrber storm. This is how I am going about it. This is a pic. of the Al. parts for the motor mount. I think motor mount will be a sandwich of 1/8” AL. and 2.5mm carbon fiber. The carbon fiber will go in gap between AL angles and AL plate mounted to motor and the carbon fiber will be the same shape as this plate. I hope the carbon fiber will keep the AL from bending and the Al will keep the carbon fiber from snapping. Right now I am not planning on a front mount or support for the motors but have some ideas and may change my mind. I am going to start a build thread on this boat very soon. I am just waiting on few more parts to come in. Should have parts in a few days.Attached FilesComment

Take advantage of the rails and get a pair of Williams racing mounts. Drop them a email and they may be able to cut you a rear suppor for your motor.

I don't see how front strap mount will work with Castle motor with cooling jacket. The motor wires come out the side of the motor where the strap would need to go. I think the strap would have to go around the cooling jacket closer to the center of the motor to miss the front cooling fitting on jacket. The 1717 weight is 17 oz only 1 oz over 1 lbs. If I am missing something please speak up.Comment
