SV33 Build up - advice needed

Hello everybody! I'm new to posting on the OSE forums. I've been looking around a bit and think I have a good combination. But, I wanted to see what you guys thought.

This whole thing started with a toy rc boat, 6 cell, I thought was fun. So I sifted through the internet and found OSE and the forums. Thanks for all the great information you guys offer! Especially reddywatts! The forums lead me to the SV27 for a good "first buy" boat. Great decision!

It's wintertime now; time to upgrade. I looked through the forums again and decided I need at least a 33" boat. I almost bought a DF33, but just couldn't go the easy route. So, I decided to extend my SV27 to make it into an SV33 (pics attached). Sorry about the size, I did shrink them.

I'd like to be in the 60s, with 5-10 minutes run time. With that in mind I'm looking at:

Leopard 4082, 1500kv/rpm (looks like a good powerful motor). A Neu 1527 is not out of the question (do I need that much motor)?

    Turnigy 180A ESC, and

    Turnigy 5000mah 30-40c batteries. I'm thinking 6S2P.

Can I get there from here? I don't race, just like to have fun.

Oh, and thanks for the addiction!

Nice! Looks awesome, haha. Not sure what you should go with motor wise, but I think a Neu 1527 is way too much motor. I'm using twin 1521 1.5d's in my 45" cat, so I don't think an even larger motor would be suitable for a much smaller hull.

Good luck with your build! I'm sure more guys will chime in with some great motor/esc combos that will get you to 60. I'll be waiting for the maiden voyage :)

I agree, I think the 1527 is a bit much, but the price delta from the 1521 (reddywatts recomendation) is to small not to step up to the 1527 for more fun later?

Otherwise, I agree I think the 4082 is going to scream, and the price is right!

My advice - buy a hull! I missfired on the initial extension and ended up redoing the bottom of the boat - more work. I will say that there is nothing else to do here in the snow. I usually force the primer/paint issue in the cold garage, but I think I'm going to wait this time. It's close to ready for primer/paint, but we still have 3/4 months for summer.

What do you guys think about 6S2P Lipo or two 3S in series? Seems like the two 3S will not support the run times and amp draw?
