    Outrunner cooling block ?

I know that Steve sells motor mounts with cooling blocks but all I am looking for is a cooling block to fit between my motor mount and outrunner. I will be looking for two of them for my Jolly Cat build. Any suggestions on were I can purchase something for this application would be great.

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

You could make 1 using a piece of 6mm alloy and drill 2 holes 3/4 of the lenght then drill across ways/width 3/4 of the way then just grub screw the hole.
Im knaff at drawings or i would to show you soz, hope you get what i mean though.
Oh and another way if you have a couple of cooling plates from blown esc you could use them as i did on this outboard, just gotta becareful where you drill

    Hope this helps

Yes, that is like what I am looking for. I am hoping to find some for sale to purchase, for I do not have the materials to fabricate my own at the time. Not only that but I do not think I have the skills to build one with the quality detail to match the rest of the Toysport’s components.

Thanks for the reply F1. I am sure there is someone on this forum who builds what I am looking for.

Thats a good question Jim; but yes, more than enough. Actually if I do not go with a cooling block, I will need to cut the shaft down because it is to long, or go with a different king of coupler. A couple of nice new cooling blocks will make everything go together well :-) Hopefully I can find someone on here with a couple of nice round ones for sale.

Punisher, AKA Peter Zicha can build what you are seeking.

Let us know how those castle outrunners perform! I just ordered one of the 1800kv versions for a single cat.

Actually these outrunners are going in my Twin Cat Jolly hull made by Toysport. The motors will be closed within the hull, that is why I am thinking cooling blocks may be a good idea?

Sure thing ! These are the 1800kv too. It will be awhile though; for that in Michigan right now the lakes are freezing up. I am not sure if i am going to run 5s or 6s Lipo’s yet (in parallel). What are you going to run with your single cat?

Yep. I had to edit my post. I had not logged in to see your pic before I started my comments. Lots of guys doing what your plan on.

how do cooling blocks hold water if you drill holes in them?

                    I like this idea.

                    cheers

Britscoot, the water passages are not violated with the two mounting screws between them.

996turbo, these are sold here on OSE.......just drill your two mount screw holes in them being careful not to hit the water passages.

                        Make a wake -

The mounting holes on these motors are 25mm apart, not only that but I would have to drill a hole in the middle of that cooling block to allow the bearing/shaft clamp to slide through; along with the shaft itself, providing a flat surface for the outrunner to sink heat with…

I did however send a PM to Pete “Punisher” regarding this thread. I will hope to see if he has anything that I can bolt right up.

I'll be running 4 and 5s, but I'm excited to see what these castle outrunners can do!

This block is quite a bit bigger, 42mm long x 32mm wide...........there may be enough room on it to fit the 25mm spacing
