I used this paint by Rust-Oleum to paint my front door.

The door is aluminum and had the factory flat white primer on it. I did a half ass job at prepping the door. I put 3 coats of this paint on the door and was amazed at the results. It is super shiny and so smooth it rivals some automotive paint jobs.

I used the same paint to paint the outboards on my Scarab build. Its holding up great. I am getting ready to do a 54" Fountain and I am considering this paint to do the hull sides in black.

if it is a gas cat DONT DO IT!
remember you can only use this paint on FE's. nitro or gas will eat right througgh it.
for my nitro's, gas or custom colors (all my green boats) i use nason automotive paints. we have a local paint supplier that can put it in a aerosol can for $15 ea. they can take any color from the dupont paint charts and mix it, put it in a spray can and presto i get the color i want. it is alot better finish than the rustoleum also.

I have regular Testors hobby paint on my gas boat and it holds up great. It doesn't have the same shine as the above mentioned paint but the gas doesn't eat it up either.

try your local auto paint shop. it is more expensive stuff but holds up and no clear necessary. even if they cant get the aerosol cans they can probablly make you a 1/2 pint or pint that you can use the off the shelf aerosol spray bottles. that is the only thinf that is going to hold up to the gas.

russ you interested in another insane at a smokin deal?
i have a gen 2 with zenoah, rcmk cylinder/piston/pin/mod carb/speedmaster hardware rtr for cheap. the only problem is it cost about $100 to ship it from hawaii. if you or any of your friends are interested shoot me a pm
