    Nitro Lapcat conversion

I have a 36 inch Prather Lapcat that am going to convert to Lipo. I am thinking a 6S2P, a Large Neu motor and a Schultz 40.160. This is the boat I have to start with.

Business end to be removed and sold. I will machine the outdrive to accept the Big Neu Motor.

Started to machine the 11cc lower 1/2. It has a much diferant shaft profile and needs to be build a lot different than the 3.5. Several more parts are necessary. Done to this point.

Mount for the servo is done. Well rough out I still need to get the servo to make it fit correct.

I really did not like the way I had this out drive set up to remove the motor screws. I machined some access slots to slide the screws up from the bottom now I am happy with the way it works. I also put on the water cooler and I will add end cap screws now.

Nice Randy! I like it!!! The lower looks really good polished up...are you going to be using a cav. plate? Where will the water pickup be located? Also, does it have the original turn fin on the bottom of the right sponson? (just curious, that's all)....

                      Cool bro!

Thanks I never use Cav plates they slow the boat down and restrict the size of the prop. Water pickup in next photo. Yes they deigned the boat to work best with the turn fin so I am leaving it. I have removed them before and had to put it back no the boat.

first two packs go in under the deck one on each side.

A picture for the owner of the boat to see how to make 8S2P he is learning sort of a newbe. One note I was told not to pull on wires when the batteries are hot. they will disconnect internally and that is bad news. Also running a ESC at 1/2 power for prolonged times is bad. Full throttle or off is best. The Schultz is best of any controller I have used but still I like to be cautious.
