    HPR 135 "High Voltage"

    Hey there,
My name is Al and I'm new to the site, and new to a few other things as well.
I am starting this thread for two reasons; first, to share with all of you, my build of an HPR 135 twin electric, and second to acquire some knowledge from some of the more experienced builders out there.

I intend on keeping this thread very detailed and up to date with pictures, explanations, drawings, and so on. Any input is welcome, and looking forward to sharing this build with all of you.

    "The Basics"
I have ordered my hull form Hanspeter and awaiting delivery. The intention is to run the hull on twin electric motors, each running on 12s LiPo, with the Castle Creation Hydra HV180 brushless speed controls.

The batteries, and ESCs are already ordered, and on their way. For the motors, I have been in contact with Norbert Kulmus from Germany who has several HPRs in his arsenal, one of which is running with two Scorpion 4035 outrunners. Norbert is a great builder with one of his boats being the fastest HPR hulls in the world. (from Hanspeter's mouth)

With Norbert's help, I have decided to run my boat based on one of his setups using 2 Scorpion motors.

This is all I have for now. Next is electronics, setup, building, and everything else that I haven't figured out yet, so feel free to let me know what you think so far, and I will keep updating as things start to fall into place.

Location: On as in Ontario, Canada? If so, where? I'd LOVE to see this bad boy in person at a lake some time.

Yes in Ontario, near Ottawa to be precise. The plan is to have it in the water by this spring. It will give me the whole long dreadful winter to take my time and build it right.

Well, I have been tracking the hull, and it has left europe this morning, so it won't be too long now before I can start posting some pics and starting the build.

While I wait for the hull to show up, I will take this time to list the basics of the HPR 135 taken from the HPR website.
                            model:
                            scale class 1 catamaran

                            dimensions:
                            length: 135cm (54 inch)
                            width: 33cm (13 inch)

                            material:
hull made from high quality epoxy resin (no use of polyester resin) with white gel coat finish. Equipped as standard already with sandwich reinforcements.

                            Available versions:

GFK - hull in glass fibre with epoxy resin, last layer with black glass fibre
CFK - hull in carbon fibre with epoxy resin
                            CFK/AFK - hull in carbon/cevlar hybrid-fibre with epoxy resin

I have purchased the Carbon/Kevlar version, it is the strongest hull out there, so hopefully it will last forever.
I have also purchased from HPR, the rudder, the 2 drives, scale hydraulics for the rudder, CNC machined carbon fiber motor mounts, and bulkheads, as well as a carbon fiber/aluminum servo mount.
The prices on the website are little off, so if you plan on building this boat, contact Hans Peter for a price so you can setup your budget right.

Here are some pics of the products I purchased. (Taken from the website)
