Man Fighter your killin me. I just picked up a couple Darkhorses for me and my son to race each other with and with the Holidays coming I'm broke. We already have a Bittburger single drive cat so we are saving up to get one of your twin drives. My son has been bugging me to get a twin drive for a while now. But this is so tempting. Damn I hate good deals sometimes.

Yeah the twins are cool. I should have the motor mounts in for the River Twin next week! Keeping my fingers crossed. Money is tight and factory delays and cost increases are killing me!

Have you put one of the twins together yet. Just wondering on interior layout, speeds, etc.
Are the plain hulls a white gel coat finish? Told my son to look around and see what he can get rid of to try and get some cash together.

Yeah, check out the "Das Boot" thread. It's basically a River Twin. The new thing to do is keep the motors farther rearward and put the batteries in the sponsons. Speed is in the upper 60's with room to go. 70's are not out of reach.

Some comparison photos for fun. The Apparition has the same smaller hatch size as the EKOS but no tail exhaust inlays. The only major difference is how thin the EKOS hull is compared to the rest. It is several ounces lighter than the rest of the hulls even with all the extra junk on it.

The biggest difference is the nose cowl on the EKOS has already begun to disfigure and bow in. It's newer than the Apparition in the photo which has hit a Manatee Pole, submarined, struck a dozen turtles and outlived 2 motors, ESC's and even jumped a center fountain and is still a solid reliable hull.

The Apparition, Genesis and FighterCat River/Daytona are made by TFL Hobbies. The EKOS is made by Dragon hobbies.
