I actually like the x640 for prop choice. It has slightly more overall pitch than the 442 and gives you more room between the rudder bracket and the stinger to adjust the drive angle. I was thinkin a feigao 8xl(2073kv) with a turnigy 120 esc. might work real well. Or even a castle 1515 (2200kv) on 4s lipo.

I have a x642 not in use from my formula fastech i sold a while ago. If castle is still having there sale id choose the 1515 over the feigao, im not saying the feigao isnt a good motor ive just had awesome luck with castle products in the past. HMMM you really got me thinking about a smaller motor, higher kv, with that x640 prop. What mount is gonna work for this application? Its kinda hard to find out without the boat being in front of me. I just found a good deal on a cc 240 hv esc, might throw that in my Genesis and take the 180amp outta that and put it in the P1 hull.

Do you know the specs on the stock V-500 motor, kv? And what turn fins did you order?

Nope, Venom doesnt give any info on this motor and I havent had any luck finding it anywhere else either. I ended up getting a set of fins off flea-bay for 8-bucks a set. They have all different sizes and colors. I ordered the small ones. Around 50-60mm long.

Maybe just swap out the esc for a 180amp on like 5s?

Here's my suggestion based on the 31" size. This motor should rock on 6s

Nope. 5s on a 2000kv motor is.... 18.5volts X 2000kv= 37,000 rpm. That is really pushing the limits on ant brushless setup and will most definetely too HOT. Around 30,000 max rpm is where you wanna be. You might get away with it for a short speed run, but not with the stock esc.

Hey scott would this solve our small prop problem.http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...od=ros-monosys

The esc is, but the motor has to be capable of 6s as well. The motor/esc/batteries have to all work together in the right combination to operate reliably. Anything over 4s will be pushing the limits of the motor.

Welp just got the P1 today. Doesnt look to bad. Not a fan of the non water cooled mount(thats gotta change), (suggestions)( but still wanna use the v-500) and the limited prop selection. Steering looks okay scott.

Programmed the esc for 4s and took her out for the first time. With the stock 3 blade on 4s IT WAS VERY DISAPOINTING

Went back to the house and threw on x642 prop.Wow this boat came to life. I dont know what i was thinking when i said i wanted to put a 1717, or a 1527
Way to light. Gonna get the handeling issue done first.

Yup, I actually LOST speed on 4s over 3s. Waaay too much cavitation. Prop is tiny.
