    Team Lindenau Smith cat

Special thanks to Diegoboy for donating this hull!

This is a Team Lindenau Smith cat. My original intentions were to run it on 2 Castle/Neu 1520-1Y's on 6s each. However after putting the weight of both motors, batteries, ect in the hull and testing it in the bathtub, it looks like that setup is a little heavy.
So right now my plan is to scrap the motor mounts I made for the 1520's and make a pair that will allow me the freedom to mount different size motors if wanted. That way I can use something smaller (I have a pair of SV27 motors I could run, or I may try and find a match for my Leopard 4074/2200kv) but still have the option to move up in size when I want to.

Im adding some glass tonight to the inside before I get too far. Heres what she looks like now:

She would be sweet with the big motors but a little low in teh water

    Going with machined sv27 stingers

My EKOS is twin drive and I use a Speedmaster mini hydro rudder and mount. It is offset, but gives no problems whatsoever.I dont think offset rudders do anything negative for twin drives.Mine goes straight as an arrow.

I've run a couple cats with offset rudders. No problems.

Yeah, I ended up getting one that is a little offset. I wasnt as concerned with the function as I was with the looks but I think it will look ok.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Its a 32" hull.

Ive gotten a little further with her. Ive done some glass work, made/mounted motor mounts, and done some epoxy/glass work on the hatch to strengthen it and attempt to get it to "roll" a little bit. The hatch was very thin and didnt follow the shape of the boat very well.
I should have some updates/pics up soon.

Ok...I've got the motor mounts in, stuffing tubes in, and a little extra glasswork on the hull and hatch. I ended up mounting the motors further forward than my original mock up. By doing this I was able to keep the stuffing tubes free of harsh bends, allow for the use of long motors, and eliminate the possibiltiy of CG problems if smaller motors were used. The batteries can actually lay right on top of the stuffing tubes (2-6s lipos).

I plan on painting the inside so I haven't put much effort into making things look finished up to this point. Im waiting on a rudder, 2 escs, and a few other things I ordered and should have them Monday. Cant wait to get everything mounted in her and see how it looks!

I think it will be very close. With the batteries in the back, the motors where they are, and the esc's in the center just in front of the motors its about 30%. I also have 4- matched 3s batts I can fit in the center if I want to.

The motors ended up there because thats as far forward as I could mount them and still get them in and out of the boat.
