My HK Genesis twin hull build

New to to posting on here, sort of been creeping around gathering info about boats for a while.
Anyways I bought a Hobbyking Genesis twin hull boat, ran it stock for a while, sadly that got me addicted to making it go faster. Basically what i am going to do is put in two neu-castle 1520's, two 120 Turnigy esc's (castle creation esc's eventually) ordered a bunch of other drive hardware from OFE last night, gonna order water jackets for the motors when they are in stock again. Plan on running 4s2p for a while, not sure if the stock rudder will work at high speeds, it has a lot of play in where the metal link (thing that connects servo to rudder). Also gonna add another layer of fiber glass to the insides to help reinforce it. I need help with propellers!!!! not sure what to get, i got two different size of carbon props on the way so i can see if i like them (one 45mm one is 51mm)

I got a video of it running stock on 4s for a while, so here it is lol.

More pics and videos to come!!!!

That' s a very good idea to build a twin setup Genesis, If you run with 4S for each motor, 1520 2200kV will work but the weight of a Castle 1520 is 17oz(482Gr) each. You should better go with 1512 or 1515.
With a twin setup, each motor helps the other one.

When I was looking for the best twin setup I looked at german twin cats
    Hydro Marine Agitator (81cm) = 2x4S
HM Maritimo (100cm) = 2x5S , same lenght than the Genesis
    HPR06 (115cm) = 2x6S
Second step, choosing 2 good motors for a twin 2x5S around 1800/1900kV. Motors with high efficiency and not heavy.
I bought a pair of Seaking 180A esc to be quiet.

If you' ve got 4S batteries 2200kV motors will be great, 540XL or Castle 1512/1515 or NEU 1512 2,5D or 1515 1Y

i dont see the motor weight being an issue. However, those motors will definately need 6s to come alive in a twin.

LEOPARD 4074/2150KV and LEOPARD 4050/2260KV is a good choice for a twin setup 2x4S

The 1520's on 7s would push 80 mph with x447's.

The Castle 1520 have a low kV, You need 2200kV for a twin 4S

              We use 1520 1600kV motors in a twin Mystic 114cm 2x6S

                How about propellers for 6s?
I will order some 6s lipos, I need some for my other rc's anyways. 7s would mean new esc's as well, and I do not have that much money to spend on RC's right now. I am also looking for a new radio, any recommendations? I am running a water proofed JR synthesized FM radio system now, but want to upgrade to a 2.4ghz. I was thinking a spektrum DX2.0

Are you talking about twin 1520?

If you like the radio why not just convert to 2.4 http://www.rc-modules.com/page8.php?...age&category=7

Ah sorry, you'd need the diy kit http://www.rc-modules.com/page8.php?...age&category=8 I have an old JR Propo that has the module and the module fit. I used the diy kit to change over a Futaba 6EX and it was extremely simple, 3 wires soldered and a few holes drilled. Here is a link where someone did the JR XS3 that wasn't the Pro model, yours should be similar, see post #6. http://www.rctech.net/forum/radio-el...os-2-4ghz.html

I've ordered quite a few of the receivers from Craig who runs rc-modules and he's top notch. There is a long thread on rcgroups about these as well. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...fd+receiver+v3

                              My plans exactly sir

                              To the OP:

I dont think those motors will be "back in stock" at OSE. They were only offered at such a low cost because Castle is no longer making them. I havent heard of any plans to stock more.
