New Vacuum Formed Cowl with FLAT TAPE Miss Vegas

Been working on this for a month or so.... It's a cowl for the Miss Vegas for FE. This one includes the hull curvature as well as flat tape all the way around. The nose pc is added (similar to the UL-1). I still have some work to do on the nose mold (too short and needs to fill in the gap).

This cowl was also designed around the retrieval system documented in my other thread. It will package perfectly, so I won't have to worry about blow overs. Just drive her back home upside down!

I'm learning little tricks about vacuum forming every day. The more I know, the more I realize what I don't know! I have HUGE respect for the vacuum forming experts out there!

is that a vegas or vegas duece? i have a duece nitro hull just sitting in my closet waiting for something to do with it. i thought about a conversion but it seems like so much work compaired to just buying a fe hull.. but now that i see your cowl it looks sweet. i would bet the guys at the pond would be jealous if i could drive it in upside down as well...

It's an original Vegas, but I think the Deuce has the same cowl.....I could be wrong though. You might want to do a little research. If you want one, let me know and we can work something out. I'm also working on decals for it!

That boat is long gone!!! But, the cowl worked great. I've since implemented a similar cowl on the PT Stealth boat. Thanks!

Yes, I made the one in the photos. Nothing special. I used a pancake griddle, shop vac, and an old fridge drawer! lol. I may have another practice cowl laying around. I can look if you want.

Sorry, I looked around last night, but didn't find anything. You might want to just use a piece of plexiglass. You can form the 'hump' for the motor using a heat gun. Good luck.
