    aeromarine challenger brushless

Hi im new to this forum i live in the uk have been into r/c for a few years, im not really a forum person but i thought this build might be interesting. its not a step by step build i will try to explain what i have done.
    hull:- aeromarine challenger pro 43"
    motors:- scorpion hk30-1900kv
    gearbox:-mocom nitro ratio 1.67 traxxass revo 24/40spur
    2x turnigy 5s 5000mah lipos
    2x etti 100a 5s esc's
    .187 flex/octura strut
    octura x452/3 prop

On the first run i managed 47.1 mph in the sea but im now getting 45-46mph on average. Im yet to try on a lake as we have nothing big enough locally.
Ive made a short vid sea conditions were not pefect for speed but i still managed 44mph but im not sure if that was due to the spin.

Sweet, twins rule... that is a gorgeous hull!!! Great build - she moves!

Those are the exact water conditions I LOVE ! you may want a little more trim tab or down strut for that water - looked like she was wantin to blow over.

        Great job.

What about the gearbox you used for the two motors, is that common in nitro boats? Never heard of those before is very interested

        Also who sells them?

        Cheers

        JC

this is the gearbox i ve used i had to flip it upsidedown to get the gears to mesh then i redrilled the revo spur gear to fit its really simple to do once you have the parts in your hand
The gear box is availible from prestwich models in the uk
GB1NA MOCOM 3.5cc gearbox 3.5cc with standard 2:1 ratio 14T x 28T. Complete with CNC machined aluminium body, flywheel/drive gear, lower Mod 1-10mm wide delrin gear, 5mm drive shaft, bearings etc.
NOTE. You can specify the gears you want on the gearbox.
i used a traxxas twin motor plate off an emaxx mounted on the face of the gearbox frame.
thanks for the compliments i have a little more setting up to do to get it running right i just couldnt wait to get it in the water.

Hey Dale (I am on to you AND Egneg) Just watching again and made me wonder - where do you have your strut? I know, on the back end. But put up a pic, I am wondering if it might be too low - it handles like my 31" Challenger did when I had the strut too low... Need to get her planted better.

Can we get picture of the gearbox with the cover removed?

I could see that you have mod the gearbox with some watercooling. Its really brilliant and seems like a good alternative to big motors with 8mm shaft (like a gas zenoah or electric littlescreamers).

I have a big gas boat and thinking of doing an electric conversion sometime in the future......

                  Cheers

Thanks everyone, ive quickly tried it again with flatter water and less wind much improved handling but speed is the same. if it was earlier in the year the weather wuld be perfet every day for testing as i live so close to the sea.

Im going to rty a 36 tooth spur this weekend it will give me an extra 1200 rpm at the prop will post more pics and vid then.

                        Awesome!
I have been playing with the idea of a third or fourth motor and making them all inline instead of a gearbox to maybe get the speed up where a big lehner or neu would be. 4 would get me to 12kw! And be a little more efficient.
