Now, this is what I call a FE tunnel ;-)

I have a longterm project going on, trying to do something once in a while when I have the needed time to relax and enjoy scale boatbuilding.
My other building are actually close to work, so this one is just for fun

Just wanted to share some pics because there ain`t many projects like this and some of you might find it interesting.
I just got the mid/lower section and I`m waiting for an adapter to mount the NEU 2230 motor. I think 12S will be great for this boat.
I also have some ideas of a full eagletree system with videocamera from inside cockpit, don`t know if it`s gonna work, but for sure I`ll try and see.

That lower is MASSIVE! Awesome...can't wait to see the finished boat! Maybe the next RC one could use that Evinrude in the background!

Nice looking lower leg, How long is the boat?

My .02 I would lower the motor. Keep the CG low.

Boat is 53" from tip to tip without OB.
Actually it is not possible to lower the motor as it is allready a little to low. I can put on a 2215 but that might be too chicken...
Batteries will be 12S2P and they will be pretty heavy, I`m thinking of putting them in each sponson and that will help a lot.
What concerns me the most, based on my experience on big boats, is that the sponsons seems a little too deep in the front of the boat. Pretty often a boat does stupid things in the turns because of that.

There will also be a tilt feature operated by a Futaba 5801 sailwinch that can make 6 fully turns with a decent power. If that won`t work I`m gonna put on a nice one from servocity.
And a view of the waterintake in the bottom of the nosecone.

Thanks for the reply. I could not tell how big that boat is from the picture . Man that is a big boat, 1/4 scale? Looks like it will be fun to run.

                  Yeah, I believe they call`em 1/4 scale.
Here is a bunch of them at a local tunnel meet in Netherland this weekend.
But for sure they have wrong engines.... smells bad...

The Synthar is somewhere around $1000 - $1200 if I don`t remember wrong, and that is if you get hold of one at all. Guy that makes these hulls do it only for fun for himself and a handful of friends. They are very nice made with interchangeable sponsons.

Does that lower leg have a flex shaft or?

Don`t expect too heavy progress, I`ll do this only for fun, and the building should be a pleasure, not a pain in the a$$...
Yup, it is 1/4" flexshaft, the only way to make the lower section narrow enough to take the smaller props. Actually I`m not sure yet if it is too wide as it is, propeller needs pure water to push hard, that`s very importat. Time will show
Lower section need to be sanded and polished.
