I've seen people say mount the drives as close to the inside edge as possible on other cat builds. That hull is sweet, but lose the flame IMO.

He he. But the flames are funny.

I'm thinking about adding a pair of wide silver racing stripes up the center. Not sure yet, but it does need something there.

Oh, good about the struts. I went out of my way to set them up tight and inside, never even thought about why just thought it was right to do.

I'd ask Rumdog to be sure. His looked to run great as a twin in vids.

His were in the middle of the bottom of the sponson transom. At a glance they looked inward.

Doesn't matter now though, unless it's a show stopper, it's staying. Too many holes to redrill.

In the mean time, I'm still waiting on the hull water pass through pieces, so might be a week or two before it hits the water.

Your struts will be fine there. How long till she's ready? Ditch the goofy flames.

Ack! I really need to finish this lady. Only waiting on me now! Spending too much time on the Fighter Cats.

Has anyone used PJ-1 Epoxy Clear to clear coat the gel coat?

PS- I ditched the flames. =)

                      Back up from the dead!

I really haven't been able to purusue this quite the way I thought I would have. It was more than difficult for my hands to work in the sponsons, so I became a little frustrated with the hull and shelved it for a while. Well, it just struck me, that the new 1717 prototype mount will fit and I can run it with a 1717.

So this may end up a single Hydra 240 w/1717 on 6s2p.

what is it with this hull you didn't like?

The distance between the belly and the hatch ledge to enter the sponsons. I kept bruising the backs of my hands and scratching my knuckles.

Yup. I had to cut out that lip in the area where the motors were mounted.
That 1717 should work well, Ben. Make sure to use a nice long rudder.

Yeah, I was going to change to a 16cm tapered offset rudder. Guess I'll have some patching to do, but I'd rather do it now than later. =)
