Here's what I recently did with mine. took off the k&B 7.5 outboard , and put a REK composite outboard on it with a SV27 motor. Ran it on 4s1p.

Need to really strip it down, and put some good hardware on it it.

    neat to play with though.

I dig the looks of that hull! We need a few more big offshore monos available. I like the large amount of freeboard. Bet it'll handle some chop!

Rum I screwed up I got carried away and ran the boat for over 15 min . It was watercooled and I burned up everything but the batteries think i demag the motor too.It wasnt even faster than the 457 on 6 s lipo . Thats setup ran waaaaaaay better. Those runs are posted on you tube check them out. No video for this thank god it was a reinactment of easter island. At least the batteries survived. Burned the turnigy completely into.Overvolted, overran, and over stupid. compliments of toatl package. I guess yall can put butter on your popocorn. I could have prevented all of this but i got carried away. nice rooster tail though but the hull ran extremely wet and instead of bringing in and making adjustments which would have shown the heat i ran and ran and ran till I literally couldnt run anymore. Ill step back to 10s two 5 s packs. but for now I have plenty of time for the fresh paint to cure.Pain ive seen you run but I dont want an outboard and no offense i was faster with my kb 6s and 457 alot faster than tha sv27 setup . I was impressed thought but this hull calls for a 7.5 cc nitro so an sv is a little underpowered. I definately cant blame the kb hell it ran with too much load and too much voltage and did for awhile so im not mad at the equipment only my stupidity.Ill use my elf hobby 100 amp esc and a new kb on 6s Ill just order tommorrow or later this week. I had a 700 kb i may go up on kv or run maybe 8-10 s on the 700. I really expected to turn that 645 better.

Hate to hear about the setback. Hopefully you'll have it up and running again soon.

I think i will try a 1520 castle or a 1717 in this hull on 6 s. and start with the x645 I hope its not too much for the motor

                A Castle Creations 1717 1580kV will be fine in this hull, 5S 2P or 6S 2P

                  Impressive

These are really impressive. I am interested in this due to the fact that I am running a 40" scarab hull. wasn't sure mine would break a plane with a 1500 watt outrunner in it! It ran better than I thought, but only hit 33 mph on 6s and 63 amps. I was also only running a 42mm prop.

Painklr, that is a 40" mono running that fast with a 3656-1800 motor on 4s! How fast is it and do you have any idea how much energy it uses? What prop and battery capacity? Never thought a 40" mono would run that fast on a 3656 motor.

Old package: What motor and esc were you running?

I really like my 40" deep vee scarab hull.

Hi Brian, I had a GPS in it on that run , and it was running in the ballpark of 33-34 mph that day. it was using Rhino 4900 2S packs in a 4S1P configuration. A stock SV27 prop on the REK lower unit. I ran it several times beyond the 5min mark, and the temps were no where close to warm. I can't tell you the amount of energy it used, sorry.

Come on, were all friends here, you can tell me....

This is impressive and I would appreciate a build write up on it and more specs so we stop messing up Totalpackage thread.

When I put my 3648-1450 turnigy outrunner in my 40" scarab, the predictions ranged from it would burst into flames and burn to the water line to it may break a plane but it is going to be really stressed. The fact that I got it to run 33mph on 6s at 62 amps was pretty impressive. But then you come along and run the same speed on 4s and the same or less amperage! How did you do it?

With a 4900 battery and a 6 min run, that is an average of under 50 amps. That is with a motor and 40mm prop that makes a 27" mono run in the mid 30's!

Please do a build thread on it and review how you set it up, what kind of numbers you are getting along with the weight and COG of yours.

                      Thank you.

                          prather revisited

Sorry didnt get the 1717 yet went with the t600 1400 kv turnigy. Also made some outer trim tabs and a real water pick up . I have to shorten the rudder arm and inch and a half ang get a real blade on there. At that length thea brass blade i made is not going to hold up and be true in high power turns. All I really need is a wedge machined with a 3/16 inch rudder post.Plan on making some inner tabs today and some real turn fins. Hows she coming along so far? Do you think the t600 is gonna turn this 645 on 6 s?

that outrunner is pure torque, dont think it will have any problems turning that prop, dont think your gonna get very much top end speed out of her though.

how much amp draw can a t600 1400kv pull? I think a 1717 would be the good ticket in this ultra light hull.I may end all the speculation and put a 5692 in there and turn a 457 like I really want to.I tell you one thing this t600 is a smooth feeling motor and it has the pole "bump" I like to feel in a motor. Its built well it appears.
