I don't think you need to calibrate the Suppo/himodel type esc, they come with auto-calibrate, unless its not a Suppo type????Nortavlag Bulc

Yes.
Suppo, Hi-model, Mystery, Flyermate, Skywing, etc, etc, are basically the same. Some have slightly better caps & some have slightly different fets.
The core 200 amp esc I think was designed by Suppo electronics of China. They do audio stuff as well and used to do really large 200+ HV esc's also but, got out of it and they focus on other electronics now, like Audiophile equipment etc...

Suppo made all of the first generation Etti controllers that we buy now as the 100-200amp suppo and modify.
Etti changed their esc's after it caught on that it was a $40 esc.
Now looking through Suppo's gallery, it looks as though Suppo still designs the esc's for Etti. I found this pic of a core etti 125amp esc, or what I believe it to be:Attached FilesNortavlag Bulc

No matter, it just exploded on the bench. I was doing the beeping thing checking settings and it sparked, blew up and smoked.
That's enough of that. No more from them. Good thing this one was cheap and already did some runs... at least I got something out of it...
I'm really tired of ESC's blowing up...FighterCatRacing Team CHING BLING - Ching Bling. Brilliant, Advanced Sparkle for your hull.Comment

I wish they would just make a cheep esc with no bec that could withstand a volcano!Fleet: 55" Quad inline T600 Cigarette boat, Twin Mean Machine, Twin T600 47" mystery mono, 4082 Surge Crusher, 1717 8s Genesis, 4074 Villain, "mini mono", 52" Bonzi, Prather Funcruiser, 2 DPI 3.5cc tunnels, 5' Styrofoam recover bargeComment

I think one of the caps blew from the plug in surge as I did plug it in several times fumbling with the connector trying to hold the trigger on the controller, but don't see anything unusual about it at all. It was warm to the touch, but not warm enough to warrant this failure.
I have another one... Think I'll just wire it up and leave it "auto". Would probably be chasing my tail for any kind of "warranty".
This is why I now buy Hydra 240's. They have a nice warm fuzzy "warranty" that keeps my wallet at ease.
I bought these two out of curiosity... We'll see how the second one does...FighterCatRacing Team CHING BLING - Ching Bling. Brilliant, Advanced Sparkle for your hull.Comment

I did get it running with the backup Suppo 200. Ran 54MPH w/447.
The batteries were hot, so am going to wait till I get the new packs to test any further. I also am thinking of how to cool the other side of the ESC. The bottom of the ESC was 150 degrees and the water plate was only 110, so need to dissipate the heat more evenly... Open to suggestions there.FighterCatRacing Team CHING BLING - Ching Bling. hmmm I think I might add a plug with a resistor and a couple x7r ceramic caps to my esc if I get one of those 200amp cheepos in the future! but that is iffy
I think I am gonna just start getting tons of 180amp tunigys!Fleet: 55" Quad inline T600 Cigarette boat, Twin Mean Machine, Twin T600 47" mystery mono, 4082 Surge Crusher, 1717 8s Genesis, 4074 Villain, "mini mono", 52" Bonzi, Prather Funcruiser, 2 DPI 3.5cc tunnels, 5' Styrofoam recover bargeComment

There is no real point to using the Suppo type esc's if it's $40 + $10 heatsink, you could have had a Turnigy 120, a few more dollars and 180's as you say.
Live and learn, they served my purposes well enough, now i'm really good at cleaning stink out of boats :) .Nortavlag Bulc

OK, got the ESC all re-done and added cooling to top and bottom.
I'm currently running the x447 and seems like it needs more prop.
Mid 50's, but I want to hit 60 with this setup.
Anyone know how many watts it takes to get a 32" cat to 60mph?
6s, 110 amps = 3.2hp (2420 watts)
ESC is rated at 200amps and lipos are rated at 6s 30c 5k (150 amps C)
I think I have room to go up a size. What's a step above an x447 for speed?FighterCatRacing Team CHING BLING - Ching Bling. Brilliant, Advanced Sparkle for your hull.Comment
