I ran my Insane Hydro for the first time today. I was very impressed, the boat ran great. Thanks to those who gave me setup advise, its nice when it runs good right off the workbench.

    Setup - Neu 1515/1y, CC Hydra 240 lv, 4s1p

    First run - X640, PolyRc 30c 5000, Motor 100s, ESC 110s - 53.1 mph

    Second run - M445, Hyp G3 35c 5500, Motor 120s, ESC 130s - 59.6 mph

    Third run - M445, Hyp G3 35c 5500, Motor 120s, ESC 130s - 61.2 mph

good stuff bud. There seems to be a common theme here. Everyones fe30s running great on the first time out without a lot of tweaking. Glad to hear that!!

Thanks. I'll try an m545 next, the temps were good so I should be okay to prop up a bit.

Today was not an ideal day to run, but it handled the chop and wind like it wasn't even there. Even into the wind at 60mph the front never lifted. Great Hull!

Make the M545 nice & sharp to minimize lift. Ran one on my similiarly setup Vegas today [instead of the M445 ] and really lit up the H2O ! With 4S2P 5000 the batt's [old Turnigy 30C's] weren't too happy; watch runtime/batt temps with the
G3's. You might like the ABC H-5 for more runtime & heat racing; Rossi-Speedmaster has them for $ 17.00

At the moment my spare 1515 1Y's doing giggle duty in my Titan 29 but will drop it in the FE30 soon

I have a couple more props to try this weekend. I just finished sharpening and balancing a M447 and M545. I'll keep an eye on the heat and run times.

It ran so well with the M445 I'd be happy if that winds up being the final prop choice, but it doesn't hurt to try some other options..... at least I hope it doesn't hurt!

Dana, let me know when you want to run. I've got two family parties and a graduation the next two weekends, but I'm definately going to squeeze in some time to run the boats.

Dana, You should have seen how steady his Insane was...a bit of a ripple on the water and it was on rails at 60! My blue UL-1 was hopping like a cat on a hot tin roof.....exact same setups, he is 3" longer and the same width, yet, what a difference!

While size does matter, it is the difference in sponson design and hull venting that allows the Insane to run more solid in rough water. Some have had success by reducing the aoa of the UL-1 sponsons.

I ran mine with the ul-1 setup and modded h5 against an os .21 vzm whiplash that the usual gas guy brought to the pond. He seen my new hull and they laughed and his buddy said go get your whiplash outta the truck and show him how a nitro hydro runs!

Well it was windy after they tossed it in it sure kept up on the straights but but it blew over on the back straight into the wind while mine had no trouble at all. The whiplash is nice and also has vented sponsons but his just wasn't running near as good as my fe30. Sadly he just made excuses but oh well this guys a prick anyways.

I had a chance to try a couple more props today

                                M445 - 61.2 mph - fast and stable
                                M545 - 61.6 mph - about the same
X447 - 59.9 mph - some prop walk, not as stable, rpm seemed lower

Temps were fine with all props, between 110-130 deg on 2-3 min runs.

I'll try an H5 once I get. Until then I'll run the M445, it runs fast, stable, and temps are great.

The boat ran great again today even in some chop and as I get more comfortable driving it I'm staying on the throttle more in the corners. love this boat!
