    32" cat build

    okay so got the 120 swordfish and was gonna run an 8xl....but with the amount of feedback from you guys i am not feeling like trashing stuff....so with the swordfish and two 3s2p 5000mah batts....what motor should i get ? finances have loosened up a bit and i am able to get something now.....what do you guys recommend for motor and prop to get this thing to sing? or should i just use 4s2p....and with what prop? thanks again guys....

      Anybody with this "same" boat got any input? Don't mind buying extra stuff, just want to see this thing do something other than sit on table!

        a 8xl on 4s with a x640 should put you around 50 mph,but i would keep run time short
        not sure if the 120a esc will be enough

          I like my NEU 1515 1.5y's (1500kv) they keep the amp draw down with the lower kv then the 1y and I run 5s and 6s on mine depending on what I am looking for speed wise.... they run cool and fast too! I have 3 of them!

            so gots an x642 prop already....what are the main differences in x640 vs. x642? how does the pitch scale go? high numbers or low numbers = more/less pitch in prop.

              from memory with a 8xl you will pull about 20 more amps with a x642 over a x640 but gain very little if any more speed on a 4s setup
              on 3s you may pull around 10 amps more and again speed would not change much.
              this is with the HOTR cat hull, but it was my first back into fe boat so maybe a better setup would see more speed

                First number is pitch... 6=1.6pitch...4=1.4pitch And last 2-numbers are prop diameter....40, 42 etc.

                  x642= 1.6 pitch, 42mm diameter

                    In my old Apparition I've had an 8Xl on 4s with an X440/3 blade prop doing low 50's
                    It's now got a 7Xl in it spinning a 437/3 blade prop doing about the same speeds but using more amps to do it. So I might change it back.
                    If I was going to set it up for 6s I'd be tempted to try the 1400kv version of the Leopard motor.

                    Your 120A swordfish may hold it if not over propped.

                    Cheers.
                    Paul.

                        My castle 2200 in a 31 inch cat on 4s with an m545 runs in the mid-50's. I think you're speed estimate is right on!

                              ah yes remember your build thread, hopefully the leopard performs as well as the castle (sure dam looks the similar)
