    Dumas Skater Twin O/B ?'s

Guys, I came across a new, undrilled Dumas Skater a while ago. I was originally going to put (2) O.S. .21 outboards on it but have since decided to go twin brushless outboards. I know the boat may be a little heavy for it, but it would be more of a scale, fun project than built for top speed.
I was thinking about (2) of the new Proboat outboards as they look pretty nice. Any reports on them? (other than they keep getting delayed!)
Hoping I could get some advice on esc's & motors. I'm still new to bl but have run gas & nitro for many years.
    Thanks, Tim

How long is the hull? I dont think the heavy weigh you speak of will be a problem it guys on here that have 19 pound boats doing wheelies no prob.

        Hey Tim,
I have the same hull with a Zenoah I was trying to fit in it and make it work. I gave up on it about 10 years ago. The boat has been sitting in my basement. I almost sold it last year but I can't seem to part with it. When I saw the new Stiletto that was coming out I was thinking the same as you, twin outboards. I'm sure the new outboard would move it I just don't know how fast. I was also thinking one of the motors should be counter rotating. I plan on getting a Stiletto when it comes out and testing the outboard. Do you have a hatch for your? I have the back hatches but not the main one.

40 inches long. Man you options are limitless. Everyone on here just about runs twin inlines in cats I suggest you do the same . The only thing you see outboards on nowadays is tunnels. I mean it can be done but outboard drive units can somtimes limit your motor choice. Put some twin skorpions twin kb's or twin castle/neu's

I was even thinking twin kb 7.5cc's as well.

I was thinking that too, but the thought of keeping 2 nitro's in sync, plus $40 fuel & $6 dollar glow plugs made me change my mind.
I think it could be a fun boat with the twin electric outboards, I just have no clue how to size the motors or esc's.
BTW, the boat only came with the back hatches, not a large one for the big opening.

Oh i ment to put a couple of big brushless motors on the lower units and then you would just need a shaft coupler and a mounting bracket to go brushless. i know the bullet outboards on here are 130bucks each so i just thought you could save a bunch of money

I was thinking brushless as well. I converted my Bud Light 3.5 kb last year and the thing is faster than it was with Nitro.

I didn't know that there are 7.5 conversion kits, that's pretty cool. There's another thread about a twin cat with the KMB outboards on it, it looks very nice.

The stilletto motors will set you back about $220 a piece with the drive, brushless motor, and motor cover. Not sure if they will look to scale on this hull. I want to do a dual stilletto outboard setup on an old nitro thundercat. I think it would be cool!

I agree and I'm not sure how the drives would hold up. That's why I was thinking of the 7.5 K&b lower units with 540 XL brushless motors. would Look more scale. I wish someone would make a scale cowl like the one DPI use to make.
