need help setting up my cat, wondering what the BEST brushless motor would be for this hull. I don't know much about brushless motors, I'm just looking to build one bad ass boat. Lehner????

Seeing as you are in CA, I would recommend Neu motors over the Lehners unless you have really deep pockets for this project.

What do you mean by best? Best compromize of performance and cost or absolute speed or max runtime. Do you have a ceiling budget not to exceed? Give us some hints.

          Some suggestions for motors:

2x- Neu 1521 The wind will depend on voltage
2x-Neu 1527 The wind will depend on voltage
          2x- Castle Neu 1520
          2x- Castle Neu 1515
          2x- Leopard

ESC's will depend on the batteries and power level.

          Schulze 40.160
          Schulze 24.150
          Schulze 40.100
          Caslte (120HV, 180HV, 240HV, Ice 160HV, etc)
          Sowrdfish HV series
          lots of other options.

Batteries will depend on voltage and power desired.

          Give us some more details
