    The slowest Mean Machine.....

Ooops I mean slowest Mean Machine build that I am sharing...... Sorry

I've had this hull for about 10 months and have been working on it on and off...... Haven't had much time to work on it due to family and work commitment and I also like to take my time with building boats.....

I am using mainly Speedmaster hardware plus a few other parts that I have found and have collected overtime.

I am also using one shaft oiler that will hopefully allow me to remove the shaft less number of times....... They are not widely used and I have seen only one on the OSE forums..... They look pretty cool and are very practical.

For electronics I'm unsure yet but it'll probably be a resonable budget one as I don't race but just bash with my mates.......

Rudder and strut are installed and I now need to work on the inside.......

All MM gurus and friends feel free to post comments, criticism and suggestion. The more the merrier

Looks like you are off to a good start, I took about four months on my MM build.
Here is the link to my build.

            jerome,

I built my own oiler in my Mean Machine (see link referenced above http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ad.php?t=14872) because I always did that on my larger nitro cats. However; I stopped using it on the MM as it causes too much a mess in the boat. Don't know why it worked on the larger cats, but not with this one. Also, I am jellous of your hatch - I like the original hatch, but sure hate tapeing it down. Looking at the transom of your MM everything looks like the same setup and location as mine. I'm am anticipating the finish of your boat and how it will run. Good luck.

the (snail!) race is on between us. So far I have taken 10 months so far and not sure how much long more..... Plus the GFC (global financial crisis) just does not want to leave us alone.......

Guys thanks for the link to your MM build. They are great and they are a great source of ideas and inspiration ....... Love the UL1 cowl, clean builds and the way things are positioned inside. Pretty happy with my cowl as with the original cowl it is not so easy to tape.....

Concerning the shaft oiler I saw it being used on gas boats but not much or none at all in electric boats. Have seen a few pictures of them on Hydromarine high-end set up cats and on one (expensive) build of one of the forum members here. I'll let you guys know how it performed.

Next step for me is to glass/glue the stuffing tube.

Question concerning where the stuffing tube meets the strut:

Do you guys leave a bit of space between the stuffing tube and strut (with the teflon liner running inside both) for strut angle adjustment? If you do how much?

              Cheers

              JC
