My cousin is getting the UL-1 and I would like to be as fast as him if not faster. So I am thinking of getting the prop adapter to run a Grimracer 40X57 3 blade with the UL-1 motor. How fast do you guys think that would go?

    Thanks, Chris

The UL-1 motor would be a great choice for 4s...............or consider a Neu 1515 1Y 2200kv for some smokin speed and cool running.
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

I have a Turnigy 120a marine esc, could I run the Neu 1515 1Y with it?

        Thanks, Chris

Don't run that motor with that esc or it's gonna smoke it. As for the UL-1 motor that would be great in that hull. I drove Properchoppers FE30 with the UL-1 motor yesterday and damn that thing is in the 50's! I would not even consider putting the 1515 in there.

Then UL-1 motor it is. Thanks. But will the Turnigy 120a Marine esc handle the UL-1 motor ok?

            Thanks, Chris

Should handle it no prob I ran mine with a hydra 120 for a while no problems at all. Matter of fact I've got a turnigy on the way should be here tomorrow and I'm running a UL-1 motor in my Elam too.

When you get all your stuff, could you post some pics of your boat and list your setup and stuff like that. That would be great.

                Thanks, Chris

I finally got my Turnigy 120a Marine ESC today. I have been waiting about 5-6 weeks, it was held up in customs in NY. I also ordered a UL-1 motor yesterday and should be here in a couple days so I can't wait for that. I have a Castle BEC on it and I put 4mm motor connectors on and a Traxxas plug on the battery side. I will keep you guys updated when I get more stuff in.

UPDATE: Got my UL-1 motor today, I still can't get over the fast shipping! I have the motor mount ordered, but its on back order so that will take a little bit. Then I will buy a motor coupler and run this beast.

Ordered a 5mm to .150 motor coupler and a 45mm glass prop. I also was wondering if it would be ok to run a 5s lipo with the UL-1 motor with a little bit smaller prop? I am trying to make this a 50mph hydro, and I don't know much about prop modding so I guess the only thing I can do is add more voltage.

                    Thanks, Chris

Got my motor coupler the other day, now all's I need is my motor mount. Its on its way from Horizon. I went to the hobby to check on my motor mount and I saw that they are selling these lipos called MAXHP, its a 2s 5000mah 45C lipo. I bought it for only $59.99. He told me that there was a guy testing these out in his jets and he said that they are putting out just as much power as the Thunder Power 45c lipo. So I will probably pick up another one and run two of these in my Elam in series. They also already come with pre-installed 5.5mm bullet connectors.

                      Thanks, Chris

Nice to see you are getting it together. About the 5s, don't do it. You can get close to 50 or even 50 possibly on 4s pretty easily once everything is set up right. And the battery, I wouldn't count on it being anything like the 45c thunder powers but it'll probably work just fine for you. I'd test it before you buy more although your gonna need at least 1 more of the same packs to run your boat.

Do you think I could get it to 50mph with the stock strut? I am starting with a 40mm 2 blade glass prop. I am going to buy another one in a few days so i could test it out.

                          Thanks, Chris

FINALLY, its together!!!....................but its raining no testing today. Im off work tomorrow so if its not raining I will test it then. The only thing is my 4s I have is damaged, I accidently sliced one of the cells with a razor blade. It was fully charged and it only sparked and nothing else. The only problem now is that when I charge it, three cells balance to 4.20v and the fourth one balances to 3.83v when its fully charged. I used it in my Truggy and it works fine but now the runtime is a lot shorter. Should I be using this in my boat?

                                Thanks, Chris
