I would suggest the kb 3.5cc outboard lower units. The shafts on them are 5/32inch which is very close to 4mm (3.96875mm) so they would be easy to fit a brushless motor on.
Fleet: 55" Quad inline T600 Cigarette boat, Twin Mean Machine, Twin T600 47" mystery mono, 4082 Surge Crusher, 1717 8s Genesis, 4074 Villain, "mini mono", 52" Bonzi, Prather Funcruiser, 2 DPI 3.5cc tunnels, 5' Styrofoam recover barge

I think it could be an interesting build though, seen the pic on RCG and really got me thinking.
i will have a troll through and see if i can find it,would like to see it

I even thought about a pair of graupner 800 converted to brushless, but not sure if they would take brushless or even an easy conversion,so the bullet drives seem easier to use and set up

Yes I do -- am traveling but will post a couple of pictures this weekend! If you look at my gallery pictures there's 1 - 1st try with EP1's. Just putting the finishing touches on it with 1700 kv brushless, Etti 150's, 4s and x442's L & R
We did it with a Bang!

not currently - had 1 up but it disappeared awhile ago!

It was around 22 mph looked sharp under way. Just the cool factor was great. Tried to co to a 17 turn brushed motor from stock 27 and the esc won't behave let the genie out twice!

So am going brushless! Just a few things to sort out and she'll get wet!
