Nice looking boat! I have had the lust on for a sniper since watching the punisher build thread.

Here is the flat ride pad of my own design 72" mono with a Quickdraw 25HT gas engine. It runs close to 60mph with a 7018/3 wich I consider quite well for such a large boat. I would think that is a better design than a round keel but I guess the DF people knows what works and not.

I would not assume that at all... I'm preparring to V my Sniper keel. I don't like the way it rides with the rounded keel. It's not a proper design, in my opinion...

The rounded or even flat ride pad seems to work very good on the smaller N2 and P size boats though. If properly trimmed the boat will ride perfectly on the back pad and really haul the mail.

Give it a try and let us know the results.

Tyler... I'm going to first try just blueprinting the bottom. It has hooks on both sides near the back... large ones. Will likely try just getting the ride surfaces trued up, and we'll work from there.

              Darin you are right.
If the boat has hooks on the rear you should sand and fill them before you try anything else. My mono had small hooks in the rear and sanding the sides and ridepad true increased the speed of the boat almost 10mph.
You can se on the pic that I have sanded tru the gelcoat.
Just be carefull not to take too much. That can make the boat very nervous and uncontrollable in high speeds.

My Sniper has more hook than my home made mono but I will try it before I do any changes to it.

                  I need these connectors first.
I am also waiting for my power supply for the Lipo chargers.

                      2mm..... Yeah, right!!!

I don't believe such high rated connectors (300Amp) are available from anybody else than Schulze.
I have a bunch of 8mm 200Amp rated connectors from OSE but when I saw the Schulze ones I decided to get them instead.
Nothing but the best bits going into this boat
I emailed Schulze about them before the weekend, but no reply yet...........
                      Need these ASAP!!!
I also emailed Icare today, asking if they have them in stock.

                          Anbjørn,

Any update on progress? Good decision to go with the Schulze plugs. My only advice there if you are not familar with them is when soldering, remove the spring piece as it will become annealed (softened) by the soldering heat.

Not much progress. Installed the machined drive dog and shortened the rudder last night.
Everything is ready, just need the Schulze plugs and the power supply to the chargers. Both should be here mid next week.
Yes and charge the batteries off course.
Yes I know the springs must be removed but thanks for the heads up anyway

                              A small update here.
Soldered all the connectors and topped up the batteries yesterday.
I am also making a proper charging station for the batteries. Going to make fire proof surface and boxes for the batteries.
Everything but putting the propeller on is now done.
I will do the first test this evening if weather permits.
                              A video will be made.
                              Whish me luck
