I'll try to get some even if it doesn't. The hard part is the steering on land, don't know how it's going to do on water just yet. It does nice spin outs in the living room on the carpet though!

Might end up going with reversing ESC's. These are forward only.

I have to run out and get pool noodles for the runners before water testing.

I have a dual fan driven recovery boat, and reverse is a must. You can back up instead of driving in circles trying to line it up. Save alot of battery power too.

Yeah, I have two Hobbywing 60a ESC's w/reverse that I may use. I'm also still considering using flaps. Just don't want all the moving parts. More stuff, more to break.

Nice! What are the fan shrouds and flaps from? I'm considering adding flaps instead of using the v-tail mixer.

I was wondering about some high torque servos capable of 180 degrees of motion attached to the ducted fans. That with the reversable ESCs might work as well. You could get lateral movement as well. From my experience that would be very beneficial.

If you have reversing ESC's use a stick radio to drive it. Plug one ESC in Th ant the other in St and there you go... one stick forward the other back, and the thing should spin in the water like a top ! The beauty of it is you do not need servos to steer of move froward or back.

Wish I could have used this yesterday when my 23 lb boat was nose up in the water with no hatch. What if there was a hook dangling were you would be able to grab ahold of something to drag it in. For now i dump my ice box and use it to float while dragging the boat. Thanks for the idea

I'm working on using some music wire or possibly just stainless wire to drag behind as a snag, the only problem is... well... getting snagged.

The other thing I've done is setup a large tube atop the rudder with a line down to a series of bobbers that will snag a flipped boat's rudder and drag it in. That works well. Just have to use a boat with some decent run time, low heat setup to go get it.

I use nylon line that will sink (I also have nylon line that doesn't sink) for when the boat is bow up in the water. I go to the boat, slow down so the line sinks, the circle the hydro a few times and slowly pull it in.
