Another option running twins is to mount the motors on the tunnel, and run the cables down into the sponsons. Then you can put the lipos in the sponsons. Looks like either way would work though.

Well, there is enough room for MONSTER heat sinks on the ESC's, like big copper CPU coolers...

The problem is, like Fluid says, the gas tank. I'm no wiz with FE calculations, but with 6- 6 cell packs S/P providing 12s 60c 12k mah, the screamers would suck them down in just a couple of minutes. Those already weigh in over 6000 grams.

I really want to, but seriously don't think I can put enough battery in there to overcome the weight and get much run time out of it.

I really really want to though.

Hey Fighter, I'd stick with the popular vote if I was you. 2 CC 1515 2200kv with 2 4s 5000 or 5800mah 40c lipos would run nicely in this boat, and without much problems at all. I've ran this setup in single configuration in two different boats now without any problems at all.

you can always reduce the props. I have a set of R and L 447's I started to detonge and reduce to 445's but it takes time and alot of patience. This way I have a sets of 442's, 445's and 447's to use as needed.

I have some carbon props to test with, so won't be starting there... Just hoping to end there. Those are the only metal props I picked up in a pair.

Going to try my hand at sharpening and balancing. Read Andy's write up and I think I can do it, I have quite a bit of patience some days. I'll feel funny explaining the play doh... Maybe I'll use modeling clay instead.

Ya, clay helps for sure, I used it not even knowing. Here is a link that helped me some.

26 lbs !!! I would have gotten the 1518 1y castles(1800kv). I have the conquest with 4 1515 castles with water jackets and should way under 21 lbs with 4 Turnigy 5000mah 40c 4s lipos. Your boat needs to be lighter for get up and go runs to 45 mph.

Oh, that was the estimated weight running 6 -6s packs and the whole twin little screamers setup.

Twin Castles and the hull only weigh a total of 13 lbs.

LOL , my hull was under 6 pounds. Waiting on the paint shop now.

This big dog weighs in at 6lbs 13oz, with paint and stringers. Still one final coat of paint to go! I don't recall what it weighed before paint.

I don't know if RumDog's sprintcat with 1515 twins is the same as yours, but it looks like it runs real well in the video he posted.

PSA- The SprintCat .40 is WAY SMALLER than the 41" Sprint Cat. This hull is HUGE.

                                I was thinking of running 3 or 4 - 4s 4k 20c packs in parallel as needed.
                                (4s4p 16k 80c) (4s3p 12k 60c)

Hopefully it won't get too hot on 447's. I already ordered the props. =)

                                4s4p of 4000ma 20c packs is simply 16000ma 20c, not 16000ma 80c. 80c at that capacity would be 1280A continous
