What did you wide up doing with your genesis hull? I wanted one for a long time but got impatient with it being out of stock and ordered a surge crusher instead!Fleet: 55" Quad inline T600 Cigarette boat, Twin Mean Machine, Twin T600 47" mystery mono, 4082 Surge Crusher, 1717 8s Genesis, 4074 Villain, "mini mono", 52" Bonzi, Prather Funcruiser, 2 DPI 3.5cc tunnels, 5' Styrofoam recover bargeComment

I really like the motor mount. i can't wait till they sell spare parts on the hk website.
I bet that will be darn close to the fastest genesis there is!
Just ordered a new gps! I think i am gonna put this one in a taped tupperware container with about 5 bags around itFleet: 55" Quad inline T600 Cigarette boat, Twin Mean Machine, Twin T600 47" mystery mono, 4082 Surge Crusher, 1717 8s Genesis, 4074 Villain, "mini mono", 52" Bonzi, Prather Funcruiser, 2 DPI 3.5cc tunnels, 5' Styrofoam recover bargeComment

BTW- I did submerse my Forerunner 101 in salt water. Then cleaned it off in dishwater. It seems to have survived OK. Including the AAA rechargeables.FighterCatRacing Team CHING BLING - Ching Bling. Brilliant, Advanced Sparkle for your hull.Comment

paint scheme
Saw this in the Powerboat mag this month and am gonna giver a go. Silver base, black panels, and possibly some red accents. Bottom will remain primer white (its kinder discolored from the sun - guess it was a porch bum for several years).
Got the hatch all stripped down, removed the windscreen etc. all decals gone (except for the dashboard). I have it primed and pretty close.
The hull is also stripped down (fortnately, the rails were missing so no need to remove). Wiped all the decal goo off with paint thinner, scrubbed her down with purple brillo pad then some steel wool in every direction - no circles. I wasn't too happy with the rounded chine, so I added some 45deg styrene angle stock to make it nice and crisp - idea being to kick that water out and not up - thus decreasing drag.
I am stewing on the turn fins and trim tabs idea. anybody know where to get the ones on the Traxxas hopup site?"Look good doin' it"

Love that paint scheme Jesse............looks like it means business!
Here's a Vid of my ugly duckling 4s Villain......................Metallic Blue with white underside is on the way!
Not quite as fast as the 6s Neu Villain, but moves along nicely.

Looks good! How are those big turn fins working? i made some very similar ones for mine with some trim tabs today so i hope they do the job. Mine needs to go strait!! hahaFleet: 55" Quad inline T600 Cigarette boat, Twin Mean Machine, Twin T600 47" mystery mono, 4082 Surge Crusher, 1717 8s Genesis, 4074 Villain, "mini mono", 52" Bonzi, Prather Funcruiser, 2 DPI 3.5cc tunnels, 5' Styrofoam recover bargeComment

It ALMOST hit the water today... Except I accidentally ordered the paper weight edition ESC... It just shakes the motor like an epileptic retard.
The other side works great! So, guess I'm waiting for ESC's again. I should stick with my order double what ya need rule. Ah well. Guess I should get some spares on this next order.
Everything else went together great! It should perform better than stock and run longer as it now weighs in at just 3 lbs. I could get it under 3lbs with slightly smaller lipos... I may just do that. =)
There might be life left in this old tugger after all!FighterCatRacing Team CHING BLING - Ching Bling. Brilliant, Advanced Sparkle for your hull.Comment

Nice vid, I am in same boat as fighter - waiting on an esc. I have started the paint job and just need to detail the hatch. Will post pics soon.
just a note, I had some water pickups at the base of the vee and it acted real weird at speeds. A better option would be in hull pickup or a propwash pickup."Look good doin' it"

probably same reason I tried it there, it seemed logical and with factory speeds, maybe they didn't see a problem. Thing is, it disrupts the water in front of the props, whereas a inhull or propwash pickup doesn't at all. It can always be changed later if you notice it kinda wobbling side to side underway."Look good doin' it"
