any idea how long the threaded section is? that way I can draw the complete shaft into my solid works and get a good idea of where I need to be

Sorry for all the questions guys. I'm planning on cutting 8 of these, so I wanna make sure i get em right. One final question. What's the OD of the 3/16 drive dog that comes with the .150 cable set from steven? I will need to match that with the OD of my stinger

They have different sizes, but 3/8" is what the SV27's is. Say, must be nice to CAD your parts out and make um . If I send you a PM with a stinger design can you take a look at it?

sweet. ya it's pretty good to do it all in solid works first. You can see if everything will clear and fit ok before you waste time making it. We're trying to convince management to get a 3d scanner at work. It does a 360 sweep around a part, and gives you a cad model.

Sure, send me what you have. What did you want me to do with it?

send em over, I'll see what I can do. I don't have access to a CNC, so if it's stuff that requires perfect duplicates or intricate angles/details, it'll be difficult, as I do most of it on a manual lathe and mill.

5/16" In the set. The other size is 3/8 OD for the lager hub props. Unless you are gonna run higher than the 42mm pops stick with the 5/16 OD.

here you go this will give you a goal to shoot for

baddest bj26 on the planet....has like $25 turnigy motors in it......73mph on 4s

So my plan, please tell me if my thinking is off on something....

Motors - use 2x BJ26 motors. What are other comparable options, for a low price?
                        ESC - 2x Turnigy 180Amp marine ESCs

I will be using stinger struts, and will more than likely stick with my dual rudder setup to start.

One area I really need help with is props. What should i be getting? From watching mudl's progress, looks like octura x442 l&r is the way to go. Is that a safe baseline? Or should I go smaller first? Again, I have no idea where to start with the setup I'm planning above.

                        cheers.

Those are really good motors by the way. That's what I'm running and just under 70mph on 4s. Speed controls will be fine, I didn't care much for the Aquastars I first used. I use now the Hobbywing 150a aka Turnigy K-force 150a.
